Now don't go too far. Not all personal trainers are shit. All I'm saying is that if someone wanted to be considered a -trainer- all they need to do is pass an easy test. Now there are LOTS of personal trainers who truly know what they're talking about. To say that all personal trainers are shit is just not true.
I agree with you mostly. Physical Therapy is a far more credible field if you want expert opinions on certain things. But then again, a lot of therapists would be terrible trainers

sorry for the name calling. when you go past parallel you're putting unneccessary strain and pressure on your knee joints whilst also using less of your actual muscles, which means not only are you using less muscle power, you're also harming your knees in the long term and if you go to heavy with this form you can hurt yourself at ANY time. it also cuts off blood circulation when you're at the range of movement you suggest meaning you are weaker anyway, which means your progress is also slowed

you're so cool i wish i was as tough as you mr awesome internet guy. anyone thats ever given you advice hasnt suffered any long term effects of going past parallel for squats. certifications are nothing if you dont know how to truly apply anything you've learned to help people out in the best way as possible. you are limited to thinking within the box. you follow the norms like a sheep and because most people think its best to go past parallel you think its the best way in all aspects.

im currently at university studying sport therapy (what americans call physical therapy) and seriously. personal trainers are full of shit just own a piece of paper to claim they know what they are on about. just study some basic anatomy and learn the movements your muscles actually do. you would then see jeff knows what he is on about: ) and also you should really be concerned about 'time under tension' & good form. instead of being big headed and lifting heavy weights: )

Everyone complaining how they cannot do it and how this isn't a beginner workout. OF COURSE IT'S NOT A BEGINNER WORKOUT. OF COURSE YOU CANNOT DO 25 FREAKING CHIN UPS. The goal here isn't to do 25 chin ups from the start, it's to reach 25 chin ups in that one minute period. Its your goal, not your starting point. Your starting point should be your max chin ups, and slowly and steady you should build it up. Goddamn it do I have to explain this to grown ups!

cardio does not burn muscle unless used in a ridiculous amount such as running a marathon a day or something to that effect. What burns muscle is doing a lot of cardio and not getting enough calories. High intensity cardio is no doubt beneficial, but say for example going for a 30-40 minutes jog is not going to burn off muscle unless you are not eating enough.

more cardio, more vegetables, and if you can turn the fat around that area into muscle: incline press, flies, dips wide grip legs further from stand, push ups, flat bench press and many many more. it comes down to losing weight and building up your chest. (can also try high reps low weight to tighten area but almost 75% of it is hereditary) GL
