Listen to my interview with Sigma Nutrition Radio: Buy My CHEST HYPERTROPHY PROGRAM Here MY BACK SCIENCE VIDEO MY WARM UP SCIENCE VIDEO mahakhalil1: Hey, JeffAnother science-backed coach and physiotherapist on youtube claims that it is a myth that you have to be in caloric surplus to build muscle. He says that you can stay at maintenance calories or even in a caloric deficit and still build muscle IF you remain in a nitrogen surplus, or as he called it, a positive nitrogen balance. So, in other words, if you just eat more protein than you would normally need if you weren't trying to build muscle. However, he did not share the scientific studies behind that claim. He just follows it and teaches it and it seems to work great for him and his clients. What do you think? Have you seen studies that suggest this to be true? Thanks

Hey Jeff, Can you do a Science video explaining pros/cons regarding Recomping. I know traditionally people say this is something that gym noobies can do but more experienced lifters won't benefit from. Its frustrating wanting to get stronger and bigger, but also wanting to get shredded. Typically people will focus on one at a time, but it would be nice to see if there are any studies that support eating at a maintenance and gaining muscle while losing fat. I suspect that it may be possible but not optimal for either goal, especially if you have been lifting 5+ years. Best regards, p00nski

Its a major that focuses on health coaching for patients with chronic conditions. Anything from diabetes and hypertension to muscular dystrophy and cancer. Just graduated with a zoology degree and am thinking about either going into conservation science or veterinary. Watching videos by someone who takes the effort to explain the science and actually reference their information is a godsend. Sometimes i feel like i chose the wrong degree as I actually enjoy reading papers on exercise science just as much. Big fan of your content Jeff.

Hey, could you make a science of sleep type of video in the future? How do the hormones (growth hormone, etc) affect muscle growth during sleep, how do the sleep phases work, what to eat and do before going to sleep for maximum recovery, even what type of mattress, pillow and sleeping environment you should use to get proper circulation and body or bone alignment.

To answer your question on what kind of audience you have. I'm a Emergency Care Practionaire student from South Africa. I'm a fitness junkie and highly into aesthetics. I love you're videos and that you've done so much research, I love the science behind it especially because I do it myself and understand it in my field of work.

About to get my undergraduate degree in Physics with a minor in Kinesiology: ) Not quite sure where I want to go next, or what exactly I want to focus on, but I'm thinking somewhere in the biomechanics direction. Love me some exercise science though, your videos are super awesome

I'm getting my BS in psych and minor in biology. After graduation I'm going to work on my med school application and apply in 1-2 years. Funny enough I don't even want to go into psychology or psychiatry and my real interest is in neuro, but my school does not offer it as a major
