Crazy Hong Kong Back Training Techniques (Living in Hong Kong) emilgilels: Nice video, Jeff I'm an American living in Asia, have been to HK about 100 times (literally, and it's one of my favorite places in the world. You did a really good job of showing highlights, and your observations and comments were I think quite insightful and accurate; best of all you did a great job of sharing your own sense of enjoyment as you explored and experienced the always fascinating city of Hong Kong. You're totally right about the great fruit in HK. Hopefully you got to try some Mangos and Papayas, which are way tastier and sweeter than what is usually available in North America. And glad to see you had at least one meal with some local HK-ers who could introduce you to some more authentic Cantonese food. About the high-end shopping malls: HK has long been a shopping destination, and the proliferation of high-end luxury malls in recent years is probably largely to cater to shoppers from Mainland China. (Think about it: in a country of a billion-plus people, if just a few percent of the population is 'rich' that adds up to 10s of millions of people, eager to spend their new-found wealth)Finally I have a recommendation for a walk-in gym in HK: Goji Gym in TST at The One Mall is 3 floors, has a good selection of machines and equipment, as well as a small food counter serving healthy food, and takes walk-ins for c. 250HKD/day. You can check it out on your next trip to HK: -)

Can you do a video about the science of doing cardio or sport-specific training after weight training (for those of us who cannot split up our training because of our schedule? If muscle catabolism is a concern or if eating properly before and after training is sufficient. I start my 2 hours of training for martial arts (mma and bjj-so there is a combination of cardio and strength training) 20 minutes after a 45 minute weight training session (I stop eating about 3 hours before I start my training) and prefer not to eat anything until I get home about 4 to 4 and a half hours after I initially start training. Am I offsetting the progress I could be making in the gym? Should I be taking supplements during this time? Or a combination of protein and carbs to fuel my training although I feel fine not eating anything (and actually prefer it as I feel lighter and more focused in my training on an empty stomach. Normally the recommendation is to eat a mix of carbs and protein if you're training any longer than 1 hour, but there is little explaining the why and would love to see a more in depth review of this

Physique looks great. I saw a few older videos where you were doing direct neck work (2016. It appears as if your neck is a little thicker than it had been back then, but have you stopped doing direct neck work, and if so what were your reasons for that? I started doing direct neck work again and have been seeing very rapid gains from it. My only concern is possible injury while performing the exercises or neck pain as a result of certain exercises. I'm most interested in building the sternocleidomastoideus for that overall thick look from the front.

Would you be able to do a video on cannabis use in regards to strength/hypertrophy gains (Something more than 'munchies causing overeating'? With the recent legalization in Canada, I think it would be a timely video. I know there is certain 'myths' surrounding cannabis use such as long-term use lowering testosterone levels. Maybe there is not enough literature on cannabis as it relates to strength/hypertrophy but I find it fascinating. Maybe it would be a good idea for MASS to publish a study on this topic.

cmon jeff the chinese brought the kiwi to new zealand a very long time ago, around 18th century i think, but the chinese called the fruit something else tho, but since this was such a long time ago obviously the kiwi fruit looked a bit different and was actually bigger. so since the fruit looked like a kiwi bird, the national bird of new zealand, boom, the kiwi we know and love today

Awesome video. Thank you for taking us through your trip and the workout. super interesting highlights also Ive enjoyed the Hong Kong highlights on your IG story as well. I struggle with low back issues myself so any tips to modify the training sessions to help protect the back is always something Im interested in. Looking forward to upcoming videos as I always do

Pfffft. Hong Kong is a very overrated tourism destination, and you can see it in Jeff's video. Food is shit, culture is shit, reasonably priced accomodation is cramped, it's overpriced for almost everything, Indians and Arabs offering rip-off watches and weed on every corner. It's only good if you're living there, making a large salary in banking/finance etc.

When it comes to these cable attachments, I personally prefer Prime handles over MAG grip, because 1. You can adjust the handle into neutral/probated/supinated 2. The Prime handles allow a more neutral wrist position where you have to slightly flex your wrist with MAG(If you havent already) Definitely try the Prime ones if you get a chance

Wasnt the Kiwi originally called the Chinese Gooseberry until it was renamed by a marketer when it came over to the United States because it was seen to resemble the Kiwi Bird? I could be wrong on that. Also thanks for posting; its inspiring. Now if only I could stop eating my disgusting peanut butter jam slurry.
