Your Diet is a Waste of Time Q&A ft. Rob Lipsett Neofolis: I would disagree with the argument about not bothering to diet. I agree that there is no point in missing out on newbie gains, because you are cutting, but I would say the best approach is to lose the excess fat before you start training with weights. Obviously this means going from skinny fat to just skinny, but the advantages are that you won't lose much muscle while dieting, because you don't have much to lose. When you start training, after the diet, your body will be in a better position to produce more testosterone, due to the lower body fat percentage, although admittedly that won't make a huge difference. You will be able to bulk for much longer before your first cut and you will be able to see the gains you are making more easily, because the muscles won't be hidden by excess fat. I never see anyone make this recommendation, yet it seems like the best approach whatever your starting point, unless you are already well below 15% body fat or you already have reasonable muscle mass from other activities and in the latter situation, I would still say that there is a reasonable case for dieting before you start training with weights, because, although you are likely to lose a bit of muscle while dieting, you will still get all of the other benefits.

I would disagree with your statement on newbie gains. All newbie gains is is the lack of progress, so you can easily gain strength and size until you reach a certain point. If you were training wrong and make no gains, you didn't waste any of those newbie gains, you will get them when you actually start training and eating correctly. In other words, newbie gainz are just depending how far one is from their genetic potential, not actual training time. What do you think about this, Matt?

Ok your diet is probably not a waste of time if your fat and have nutrient and vitamin deficiencies. But could be a waste of time if you were physically conditioned when you were younger, and maybe let yourself go a little as you got older. Your muscular foundation and distribution is there, you just need to hone in on it. But watching what you put in your body is never a bad thing. So dieting being a waste of time is not that black and white. Everyone is different.

First step is just eat below your maintenance calories using a tracker app and then gradually replace your unhealthy food with healthy stuff its that simple. Drink at minimum 2 litres of water every day in 2lt flask or bottle sip through the day. Replace coffee with matcha jappanese tea egc anti oxidents its more potent than normal green tea. Im studying for a fitness instructor cert hope im right I love this stuff lol

You mention newb gains and how they can only be made when you're a newb. Would it not be the case if you worked out but never bulked or cut, you would simply hit a limit on strength at your non-bulked weight? And when you finally do bulk, the strength and muscle gains would finally increase. or are you saying they are completely gone, to never be had again. If so what happens when you do bulk?

Dropping or tucking the elbow in to the sode of your body includes more front delt whereas flaring the elbows out hits more pec, thus guillotine bench is amazing movement for chest if you keep shoulder blades retracted as to not damage the glenohumeral (shoulder) joint. Follow the fibers. You two are right about the retracted vs protracted scapula, but worng about upper arm and elbow position

If u have got a bit of belly fat u need to lose weight before u start putting on muscle, because the fat is covering the body muscle so you need to lose weight before you start putting on muscle but if u r skinny and No fat on u then put on muscle but what he is saying is bull

The thing is when you dont eat enough food, your body eats other cells (which is why you can die from hunger. Once the body eats the cell, your just gonna stay the same. Most likely your immune system will be weaker and you may lose height. Dieting is not helpful.
