This was good. Fellas, I'm 75 and I've been in the gym 40 years. The single, most important advice I give to all the younger gym guys is--DON'T EGO LIFT! I know it's easy to get into that mind-set when you're with your buddies, of how much you can one-rep-max on the bench and squat, but I tore up both my knees and shoulders playing that game. It's not worth it and it could be a death sentence to your gym life. If you're lifting too much to keep proper form--don't do it! Thanks again for the video.

Your reason for using machines is also a negative to the use of machines for older adults. You need to train your stability, coordination, core engagement, etc, as we age that becomes more important to avoid falls. When you are older, bulking and crazy muscle hypertrophy won’t be your number one priority, but having a body that moves well and is strong will be more important. Functional training, full ROM, natural movements, compound moves

the flip side on machines is once you are injured, they often become non-options. I cannot use machines for upper body pressing movements due to shoulder pain. With free weights, I’m able to modify the bar path and angles to work around mountain bike and motorcycle crash related injuries.

How can a person build the same muscle mass at maintenance, compared to someone who’s bulking (higher protein and calorie intake) Was there something I missed
I understand what you said by still building muscle while at maintenance, staying lean. But how can an individual get bigger

I’ve been rocking that belt brand for some time now, only thing I dislike about the belt is when I’m driving I can literally feel the belt pressing against my back due to the fact the belt is very stiff/sturdy other than that it’s an awesome belt

If you’re gonna pitch for a sponsor then eliminate outside commercials. If you want to monetize with outside commercials then don’t pitch for a sponsor. It’s just a matter of respect for your viewers

Good call on the bulking/cutting process. Maybe that works for some guys. For me, it just meant my belt got tighter until I had to loosen it. Those weren't the kind of gains I was looking for.

1. Take Mobility seriously. 2. I would have used Machines more. 3. I would have focussed on effort rather than volume. 4. I would have stuck to the plan. 5. I would have stopped bulking & cutting.

Stop that weird speech cadence, brother. Just talk like a regular person without emphasis on the final word of your sentence. Almost unlistenable.

Mobility, flexability, stability and strength. I realized this 25 years ago and started yoga in a addition to weight training.
