Squat is the king of lower body exercise the truth is two leg exercise wont be enough for a advanced trainee. if its your first day just looking at weights make you get gains. for each lower body part you need 2 exercise Personally I recommend have quad based day and next leg day have hamstring day for quads squats and finish off with leg press to failure for safety reasons and try take wide stand 99% of people lack glutes go as deep as comfortable. next leg day do something like Leg curls into RDL or STFL whatever you like the most you can always finish each days with some Hip exercise. Personly i'm in love with high volume leg workout the pain is my dream

The minimalistic approach for leg days (2 to 4 exercises max) has been doing wonder for me in the past months, it made me not hate leg day and actually do it, it gave me consistency. The only leg exercise I do are: Squats, Leg press, RDL, nordic curl and hip thrusts. to compensate for not having lots of different exercises, I just do more sets of each of my top 4 exercises, 4 to 5 sets to achieve the disired weekly volume.
Legs have been increasing in strenght, size and definition steadily.
Sometimes less is more, minimalistic approach leg day is better than no leg day at all.

Good video but I've got two questions: at 3: 26 you're locking your leg, I would never do it, you don't think if puts load on your knees without any benefit? at 3: 00 you're suggesting to move the backpad more upwright, what's the benefit to for a better quads workout? Thanks. Btw I just bought elevated heels training shoes, and for me it's indeed easier to do my exercise.

So NO targeted calf muscle workouts. Hmmmm and I was getting nervous with that leg press (lock out and bounce technique) LOL Also talking about 2 must in making your legs bigger, we didn't really talk about weight vs volume? So this video seems to just point out targeted areas that the leg press and Romanian dead lift hits.

as a 6. 5 male with long legs, that have had back issues for the past 7 years, my legs are not impressive: ( my back pain has recently gone away and im trying to powerlevel my legs. havent done sqauts and deadlifts yet im just so scared to mess up my back again.

If you have long femurs, free weight squats will not help you build big legs. You're better off doing leg press or hack squats. Also, try incorporating 3 seconds negatives on the leg press and watch your quads grow like tree trunks!

So far so good over here. Gave up on deadlift. I do squat instead and it feels better than anything dead lift related. Then I do leg press as well same day. Then follow with high rep hamstring curls and calves.

I thought you weren't meant to lock your leg/kness out on the leg press? The Romanian deadlift is a killer, really takes it out of you but really good. I picked up some great tips, thank you.

I do both squats and leg press. For my biophysics, leg press hits my quads better than the squat. However, the squat engages more muscle groups and is harder than the leg press.
