How To Fix Rounded Shoulders (THIS ACTUALLY WORKS)

Have rounded shoulders but no matter what you do you're unable to fix it and correct your posture. This video is the answer. Prepordietryin: To anyone needing help with this I will tell you what helped me out. My aunt's husband is a physical therapist and I talked to him about what could help my posture. Something as simple as laying flat on the floor for 10 to 15 minutes a night will help stretch out those chest muscles and shoulder muscles and it literally aligns your body back up in a correct posture. I didn't think it would honestly work at first but after the first week I would get out of bed and I would be so sore that I can barely get out of bed and that's because of the muscles being stretched back out natural placement. Not only that but you can feel it in your back too. The only thing is I had to continue to do them to see the benefits of it. But it really did help my posture. So hope this helps someone.

3: 01 THIS! I can't believe the amount of people that have trouble progressing because they have a messed up posture (me included.
And then the experts on reddit tell them to just do the movement. -You can't do bench press and not use your pecs-. I've done years of bench press without properly using my chest and saw little results.
Finally someone credible acknowledges that different posture can lead to different cures for growth. For me aiming for a -full ROM- was definitely the problem as I'd always lose the connection. Ironically after only a few workouts of focusing on the connection and not the ROM, the latter became decent as well. Only this time I was much stronger at the bottom and had full control with the muscle I'm trying to hit.

I just want to say that I tried implementing a lot of your exercises into my program last week, as well as your mindset of focusing on connection with muscles and pushing them til failure. After 1 week of implementing these changes, I successfully kicked myself in the dick harder than I have in years. I can't remember the last time I felt this sore. I woke up after leg day and wasn't entirely sure that my legs would bare my own weight when I first got out of bed. I am both excited and dreading the gym this week. Thanks for the content that is both helpful and hilarious.

Ryan's hilarious and his vids have good info to help me with my workouts. I can't do the intensity Ryan pushes because after 30 years of neglect, I started working out for at age 63, was skinny fat, and have shoulder and knees injuries. I do lot of volume on my Soloflex and with my dumb bells before increasing resistance. After losing 35 pounds of fat and gaining much muscle, I'm literally 3x as strong, much stronger now at age 66 than ever before. It's nice to hear people compliment me on my physique. Never experienced that before!

To Correct it yes.
But moreso it's just the lifestyle of one's upbringing.
I BMX'ed till my balls fell off from 92-94.
This was offset by rollerblading. But still IT. remains.
A good way to make yourself appear like you have it right when you don't though is.
Behind back pulldowns. And Rear delt flys. You'll see results instantly. that will last. until tomorrow. Then, you must do them again.
This easier to most people then what Humiston is advising; which is for say the Top 10% of people whom workout.

Very good advice took up sports and weightlifting as a teenager but never could seem to break out of my intermediate plateau until I realized years of childhood gaming had changed the way my anatomy was functioning and all of my leverages were off once I started retraining how to properly lever my body to get the most out of it my performance sky rocketed and I have finally been giving the complimentary assumption from my friend group that I most just be on the juice lol

spinal accessory nerve injury is causing my rolled shoulders, my posture is awful and my neck contracts the SCM so hard that I can't win the battle. I can only assume there are a lot of people out there with injuries that to the cervical spine that cause their rounded shoulders and stretching just isn't going to ever reverse it because the nerve is always sending the signal to control to contract your neck and shoulders inwards.

-Ryan
I'm really going after the mind muscle connection. I hit my chest/tris/and shoulders the other day, focusing on contracting the muscle before I even started the movement, then did what I thought was -flexing it- throughout the entire movement till failure. My chest felt really worked later that day.
I just want to clarify that's what you mean with the mind connection to the muscle?
Thanks.

So the only few exercises that will help with rounded shoulders are fly's, presses, and dips with weight held to open up the chest? Doesn't there needs to be some sort of strengthening for the back/rear delts as well? Or am I just assuming the exercises you mentioned are the only ones to do? Please help me sort this out. I have rounded shoulders and nerd neck from working IT at a desk all day.

Absolute truth. fixed my posture at 63, using inversion table and slowly reverse arching back, but mostly by walking 3-4 miles daily and intentionaly keeping core super tight and shoulders back, head up and away we go. took a year, but, can be done. Thanks Ryan for reaffirming. I too, yell at strangers. 1, Put a damn shirt on (ya fat f#-, and 2, straighten up fellow ol bastard
