These proven exercises for sculpted legs are some of the best thigh exercises available. And this video will also show you some of the worst leg exercises that you-ll want to avoid. To get sculpted thighs a lot of women believe that you need to lift extremely heavy weights with a Smith machine. However this machine puts your legs and body in an unnatural plane of motion. We-ll show you the best leg exercises to do to replace this machine. The dumbbell squat is one of the best thigh exercises to replace it. Another of the worst thigh exercises you-ll want to avoid is the Leg Extension. It should definitely not have a place in the best leg workout for women. One of the top leg exercises you can try instead is lateral lunges. It-s one of the best thigh exercises for hitting the entire leg. There are also 3 additional exercises in this best thigh workout that will help you develop sculpted legs. Among the best leg exercises for women are the step ups, barbell backward lunge and sumo squats. These should be included in any sculpted legs workout. Here are the best exercises for sculpted thighs that make up this womens legs workout: 1) Dumbbell Squat (instead of Smith Machine) 2) Step Ups 3) Lateral Lunges (instead of Leg Extension) 4) Barbell Backward Lunge 5) Sumo Squats

I think this video is based not on facts but on the trainer-s opinions. Every person has a different mindset, build and goal and so as a trainer (me) you want to be careful about discouraging ppl from doing exercises that you personally don-t deem as suitable as others. Sure the machines used too often won-t help as much with balance as opposed to free weights but the machines also have benefits such as helping those who may have knee or low back issues and who may need that -guidance- of balance offered when using the machines in a controlled safe manner. There is no one set way to train - find out what that specific client best responds to and what their goals are, offer them variations and then implement programs that combine a host of different workouts whether it-s machine days or free weights or body resistance type moves without weights or machines.

Had issues with my knees from age 14yrs, at 49 I can tell you all squats are not good for knee and or hip issues, but you can use machines as they are more stable for your movement than you being free standing, once you have gotton stronger then move on to squats. If you have a proper coach/trainer you should be assessed on each excersize for degree of strain/instability, always ask Dr or your physio if you have one for advice before excersizing at the gym if you have joint issues.

Wow, what an eye opener on exercising for me. I always thought that you need the gym machines to build correct posture and balance but here I am seeing that simply using the exercises we have been accustomed to, together with heavier weights and various alternative uses of simple equipment, it is possible to maintain proper posture and the tone of the muscles. Thank you very much for sharing. I really appreciated the information on this video. -

I love this video! That machine for the quads (hope i spelled right -) I like to use it for the back of my legs. I don't do it often. What do you think about using the Smith machine for doing good mornings? I've used free weights for that but it seems easier on my back using the machine. What are your thoughts?

We need a female Jeff! She's saying things are effective but I love seeing the science and the muscle fibers the exercises hit. I'm not saying she has to wear booty shorts (there are leggings with muscle patterns) but pictures of the engaged muscles would be great. #JeffsMarkers

I'm worried about bulk. Since using heaving Weights to do squats and lunges and lifts, I'm noticing my legs are muscular. I do metabolic workouts daily. And I very think 102lb. I like lean but toner legs. what should I do? Should I avoid heavy weights and kettlebell? Thx!

If you-re doing a video on great legs and you proposing you know how to achieve that. Why is it, that you don-t show your results. Just because you-re thin doesn-t mean you looks good. Let-s see how you look. That tells me if you know what you-re taking about.

Fantastic leg work! I love your exercises. I burned 400 calories doing 4 rounds according to my Fitbit Ionic. With the lateral lunge - I added a curtsy lunge and knee raise to make it a triple it was brutal. Please more fat burning leg workout with weights!

NOTES:
Effective:

Step up w/ lunge
Side/ lateral lunge
Barbell back lunge
Sumo squat
Ineffective:
Barbell squat on Smith machine
Leg extension (avoid if you have bad knees, can exacerbate pain)

I think the machines are fine. Like you said, your not a fan of. The machines help for you to focus on your muscles when lifting and makes sure you have the right form if your new and learning.
