Why Diets Fail & Factors That Affect Weight Loss I 30 Day Health Kickstart I Lucy Lismore Marina: I just ordered a food scale that should be coming tomorrow so I can better track my calories. My progress seemed to slow quite a bit so I suspected maybe I've over eating on meats and poultry. I also increased the duration of my workouts since I've been feeling stronger lately so I've seen progress move along again but I also don't want to rely too much on exercise for my weight loss because I don't want to end up gaining it all back just because I stop working out. Definitely better to just eat right or mostly right and get a little boost from exercise. Lost just over 20kg so far. Now I just need to start working on sleeping more. -

Thanks for this Lucy and thank you for always putting things in an 'easy to understand' way, it helps so much! At this stage the habit that is helping me towards my goals is doing your workout videos and making sure I do them the day after you post as they usually come through in the evening here in SA. It has helped me to get into a routine with exercise and on the in-between days I just do small things to move my body. I think I usually go in with workouts that are a bit beyond my ability so I tend to back out but I am really enjoying what I am doing at the moment -

Thanks for the video Lucy. I am about 6lbs down total. I-ve not cut anything out of my diet I just eat between 1600-1800 or even 2, 000 calories sometimes and I-m still losing weight. I-m having pizza tonight! Lol but I still want to eat more vegetables and fruits to get more nutritional value in my diet. So I-ve been slowly adding those things in, for example I ate eggs with spinach and an apple this morning for breakfasts. I am trying to slowly add more nutritionally dense foods to each meal every day.

I am working on being consistent with my nutrition. In the mornings I do HIIT classes and go for a run in the late afternoons (even if it's 20 minutes. I am working on learning that rest days are important and take 2 rest days per week. On these rest days I walk and/or stretch depending on how I feel and learning to listen to my body. This is so I can build up towards my goal of being able to run 10km at the end of the year.

This month I'm working on making movement a habit, I want to do some type of exercise or stretching everyday. I'm trying a 30 day yoga challenge to help me with it and combining this with the exercise videos you have been uploading this month and its been good, I only have missed two non-consecutive days which a will take as a win if I don't miss any other day of the month: )

I have been eating in a caloric deficit for the past two weeks and walking or moving around as much as possible. My goal is to hit 8k to 10k steps per day. This is from the time I wake up to the time i sleep. I am down TWO KGS already. thank you for all your videos it really helps. i will start incorporating body weight workouts too this weekend.

For the last to weeks, I have started to stretch every morning and evening to have a little bit of activity every day. So far, it is working. If I don't do the full routine, I still take my yoga mat out and do 2 or 3 exercises. It is important for me to still do something even when I don't feel like it ot don't have/take the time. -

I-m trying to calm down first and realize that it-s a lifetime shift and game changer and not just a quick fix. Therefore I-m trying to walk everyday even just for 10 minutes thinking I-ll do it for the rest of my active life, the same goes for intake of water! Hope it-ll work. Thank you ever so much for your immense help.

For the last two weeks I have been learning to meal prep. Since I have meetings throughout the day, it becomes almost impossible to find time to cook, so I end up ordering unhealthy take outs. But I am learning to plan my meals in advance and prep them during the weekends!

For the last 2 weeks I've tried to actively think about health and the habits surrounding it as system instead of a once-off goal. It has helped me be more realistic and actually a bit less stressed about it.
Thanks for the videos - I'm loving this kickstart series!
