7 Days in the Faroe Islands - A Travel Itinerary Anthony: I thought I would take a look and see if I would like at some point to make a visit - Looking at this point to the Shetland islands.
I could see having a break here would be good but my honest opinion is that a charge on hiking has baulked me in my tracks.
I do understand the risks as I am a frequent walker in The English Lake District and Scotland. For us the right to roam is a fundamental freedom that was fought for. So to be charged goes against the grain. On an expedition where grave danger is involved I can understand where a guide maybe used but should not be obligated.

It's all cool and breath-taking for us
But not for people who are born there.
When it Comes to health facility, think of it how much costly would be everything as the all are imported using cargo ships.
Your laptop is not working, but the part for repairing it will come after 2 weeks.
I may be wrong about availability sorry, but not entirely

I LOVE THIS VIDEO! I visited the Faroe Islands in 2021 and loved every minute. One of the most spectacular places in the world! The people are so friendly and helpful and the hiking is out of this world. But you have to be very careful because the clouds can come down very quickly, reducing visibility to a few metres. Not to be taken lightly.

HEY ALLAN! I will go in two weeks there thanks to your video!
Can you help me with this questions:
1. If I am planning to go for just 4 days, what would you recommend doing.
2. Where is the best place to stay? in 1 city, move around?
3. Is there any local tourist tour company that its worth doing any of the hikes with them?

reply

As a Faroe Islander, you give me anxiety standing so close to the edge! Please be careful. It's not entirely uncommon for people to get hurt there, or worse, when they aren't careful. The rocks at the edges can crumble when standing on them.
Also, you make amazing videos, so thank you for that. :)

Allan, this is a wonderful guide to the Faroes. Your drone photography is outstanding! One question, you indicate you stayed in a single hotel for your 7 day visit. Did you find driving back to a central location in Torshavn was preferable, didn't that lead to a lot of driving?
reply

Allan, thanks for the video. Looks amazing, was wondering if you had any GPS issues with the drone? I plan on visiting in late August. If I had only 4 days only what would be your suggestion of Islands to visit, thx and again great video!
reply

Your Faroe Islands videos inspired me to go and I just came back from a week long trip!
Unfortunately, for the Dunnesdrangar sea stake hike, there's a sign at the wooden gate that you require a guide and cost 450DKK!

Hey Allan,
I'm going to the Faroe Islands in September this year; any recommendations for GPS's to get before going there? I need one for the long-term really, not just for this upcoming trip.

I just wanted to say thank you for this video, me and my wife just returned from a 8 day trip to the Faroe Islands and your video was very helpful to us. Thank you and keep up the great work here!

It looks as if one can unknowingly, i. e. without encountering warning signs, or handrails, reach dangerous points, at steep cliffs. I am thinking about people who are not good at heights!
reply

No thanks, always cold and rainy even in the Summer. Plus having to pay extremely high fees just to have a walk, which is basically all you can do here is a pisstake.
reply

Just make sure you know that while you can't fly, what you will see when you travel there is very different from what you see from the drone in this video.

Its beautiful, and the weather is amazing! Unfortunately though it seems extremely expensive to visit.
I guess if youre rich its a good place to go.

Sheeps are everywhere thats where the Faroe Islands got their name from - in their language it means sheep.

Beautiful video. The Faroe Islands are so amazingly beautiful that anything manmade fades in comparison.
