I lived in StL for 35 years and frankly I was wondering if you could come up with 21 Things To DO. Actually you covered them pretty completely and some that may have arrived since I left. For example the fountain on the IL side across from the Arch. And frankly I don't recognize the BBQ places. They may be newer too. I lived for a time near Soulard Market and worked downtown at the FRB. You mentioned Union Station, but there use to be a interesting shopping area in the back which may have closed since I was there. Personally my favorite attraction in StL was the Botanical Garden which I would visit several times a year since I am a plant person and I played tennis in Forest Park at the Tripe A Club. I am sure that has changed since I was last there as well. Anyway, a very good summary of STL. It a city that is struggling and has become a shell of it former glory. It was once the 4th largest cities in the US. It once had a population of almost a million and now the last time I look was around 330 thousand. It had and has terrible racial problems with most whites and many black moving out. Huge areas of north STL were totally burned out. I think some new construction has been filled in for some areas, but it is a pretty tough place to live. South STL which was mostly white down where Ted Drowse is located survived but that may be changing. One group that migrated into the southern parts of the cities were Bosnians refugees at the time of the war in the old Yugoslavia. I think they have had a positive effect on the southern part of the city. The city once had several big firms, but owners of these firms have been bought out by larger firms so they have less civic impact on the community. Bush Beer, Ralston Purina were bought out by European Companies. It sad how this once important city has become so minimized. One area you didn't mention was the attraction that use to be on the riverfront. I suspect those are gone now as well. I did see in your video a crane somewhere on the south side of town which may mean that something is being built. But basically the buildings that are in downtown are the same as the ones which were there when I moved there in 1970. They do have a new baseball stadium and that is about it. There are a few highlight left many of which are actually supported by tax dollars such of the free things you mentioned. If not, they would be gone as well. No body wants to go downtown because there is little to do and isn't particularly safe. The murder rate for the city is one of the highest, if not the highest in the country. There is very little that could revitalize the city in this day and age. The Gateway to the West has been left behind. It former glory is just that, former. So Sad

#2 Buying a 99 cent plastic Rose at a gas station to take back to your lady only to be informed you just bought a crack pipe.
#3 Paying for a gas station snack on the other side of 1 bullet proof glass, also you get to use one of those cool slidy trap doors.
#4 Going to the car wash to suck the shattered glass off your car seats.
#5 Spending 20 min looking for where you parked your car before you relize it got stole hours ago.
Im just playin' its not really that bad, well ok maybe a little.

Thanks for visiting and covering my home city. I love it. You covered many of my favorite places to go and hang out. We also have a great coffee scene. My favorite is on one of the places you covered; the Delmar Loop. It is called Blueprint Coffee. A great coffee shop that offers fantastic pour overs and has a great food menu. Just a great atmosphere there. One of my favorite places to just chill out on a lazy weekend day is Creve Coeur Lake out in St. Louis County. A great place to have a picnic or to people watch while taking a walk or bike ride on the scenic bike trails around the lake.

I spent 2 months in St. Louis, spent days at the Gateway Arch, St. Louis Zoo, Forest Park, Art Museum, Grant s Farm, Delmar Loop. and yet never knew about all the other wonderful places shown here! Just got home from stl this weekend the aquarium is open now but make sure you buy tickets in advance they sold out by the time they opened on a sunday. Also dont go to city museum on really humid days it's not that fun walking down the 5 story slide because your sweating ur butt off. Fitzs is totally worth the wait if there is a line also imos pizza sucks dont waste ur money even my kids wont eat that crap

its a bit out of the way but visiting Grafton during the winter months and you can spy on bald eagles while traveling up and down the river.
its a really fun experience.
I grew up on the Illinois side of STL and I love the city and miss it a lot. You listed a lot of great things to do and eat. Theres still a ton more, and their adding onto all the time time.

I can really feel the smell of real American culture. This city seems so historical that its cultural atmosphere still not be ruined yet. Of course NYC is most iconic city of U. S. A, but I think St. Louis is most - oldschool American city for sure. I've never been to neither St. Louis nor any city of U. S. A, but I would like to go St. Louis on my first visit.

St. Louis is a great city, but turning down Disney World and the railway really hurt the city. St. Louis almost had the White House as well. When I think of St. Louis I think of what it could have been. The city could have been the NYC of the Midwest. Chicago benefited greatly by St. Louis turning down so many big developments.
