Tim are you from the south island? My parents do the NZ summers in gorr (My dad is a brown trout fanatic) and then summers in Steamboat USA for the same reason. there been going to the south island every 3 years for 35 years and then when they retires the bought a cottage in Gore in 2000. I've been for 6 months, 2 months. and then 2 more 1 month stint. starting in 1993!

Some very nice camera & editing work done on this video. I especially liked the views from the carriages of the rivers & meadows, a nice change from the usual front cab view.
I also appreciate that there was no music, just the natural sounds of the train & rails.

Traveled on the train when I was 5yrs old from greymouth to chch went on it a few times since then I am 72 years old now it used to be the old vulcan railcars fantastic journey it was very scary for a young boy like me thank you for the great videos tim

what an amazing video, its one of the best if not the best video I've seen, thanks for sharing it, one can just imagine after the ice age, all the ice melted and made its way down this plateau and eventually carving out these gorges, thanks again

Wonderful video! The landscapes are gorgeous! Really nice you captured the line-side along the rivers and the sound of the running water, fantastic! Also, kudos for capturing the signalling in action along the line and the siding action.

Wonderful, what a great journey of alpine. I don'tknow much but really I enjoyed. Such mountains, marvelous rivers. I can't travel all over world but due to your efforts I can be on tour to lovely nature of world. Thanks from heart
