The NARRATOR is EUROPEANISING African history on the island. something they do whenever they make propaganda and misleading videos like this one.
Even the BLACK female dancer who wears a red headdress is misguided. The film producers ALWAYS allow those people who will go along with their narrative, add and solidify their claims in order to be part of their misinformation and corruption of factual information.
AFRICAN DANCE and DRUMS DID NOT START DURING and/or come out of SLAVERY ANYWHERE in the CARIBBEAN or on GUADELOUPE as she states, and if you pass this misinformation on to the young people then you re doing a disservice by tying them to an anchor of misinformation that their long African heritage started in BONDAGE, you are in fact participating in self identity genocide.
SLAVERY ISN T OUR BEGINNINGS ANYWHERE IN THEIR NEW WORLD!
SHAME on you for FALLING ASLEEP ON YOUR OWN AFRICAN HERITAGE AND REPLACING IT WITH EUROCENTRIC NONSENSE!

I visited Guadeloupe two years ago in April, and I must say. the island really stole my heart. From the second I stepped out of the airport, I noticed the island itself feels alive. As if it is a giant, magnificent whole organism in itself. I could almost hear it breathe, hear its heartbeat. The sounds from the insects, birds, leaves, waves. everything came together into this amazing, continuous murmur, that never stopped.
Every step I took, every sound, every smell brought me energy on that island. I felt so much closer to nature, Earth, life. Coming back home, in the man-made noises of the city, took me a long time to get adapted again. For a while, I couldn't sleep well because I missed Guadeloupe's breathing. and the rain. So much rain in Guadeloupe, but so warm.

Just returned from 2 weeks here. Probably the most courteous drivers (and crazy) I've ever seen. No stop lights except in the capital. You just pull out even if there's one car length. But the car behind you will just slow down, no horn honk, no tail gating, no road rage. The traffic if tough but if you need to get into traffic, within 3 or 4 cars someone will let you in. From the airport I thought it was the worse traffic in the world. After a week I just went with it. The slowness of the island grows quickly on you. It truly is a paradise & everyone just takes everything so slooowly & noooo rush. No one gets upset about anything it seems.

they didn't bring in that much enslaved Africans either, most we're already there. they have been falsifing our history to hide our natural born rights. the French, Dutch, Brits have been working in cahoots to make that happen. what happened to us is much worse than just slavery. what they have done to us is incomparable with any other group of people.

I was at the Guadalupe several days in June 2016. Comparing the weather in central Europe with weather this beautiful island I have to say that Europe can be liked but Guadalupe - is paradise. Life slows down there. Ocean and sun you get a companion for days. I recommend to all. Polecam.

Guadeloupe is historically known for its resistance to french rule & Martinique is known for its willful compliance, so although both islands are dominated by zouk, you're more likely to hear a little more homegrown roots rock reggae coming out of Gwada than Martinique. More fyah!
