Amerika ist nett? After 50 years here I don't buy that America can do anything but lead or rebel against anyone, anywhere. Gemein, vielen Nazi Witze. Is that worth low prices and good food? My tourist tip: America has a huge hole where worldliness should be. It is a melting pot of bold upbeats any way you can get them. German tends to make only slight upbeat and downbeat distinctions and thrives on a technique of mature sensibility. Go somewhere, anywhere else.

The thing i liked the most about america was most certainly how nice and polite everyone was. On the other hand, i disagree with your opinion on the top 5 of things to hate. Quite on the top of my list would be american law enforcements. They are very much bullies with guns. Maybe its just my perception and i was unlucky to run into the wrong kinds, not saying german police doesn't have a bad day, but american cops are very, very unfriendly and unhelpful.

i don't know about the history of the word, but in todays usage you are definitely wrong. ami is simply used as a short version of american today, like any 'shortform' given by one nation to another it might not be the most formal and respectful one, but it's nowhere close to a racist slur. at least for today.

Hi Man, I know this is not the right video to ask this question, but since you live in Lisbon, I have one question that bothers me. I notice that a lot of clubs, museum, livehouses, art galleries, cafes call themselves LX. what does that mean? and how do you pronounce that?
Thanks a lot in advance.
