The Terra Cotta Warriors, one of the wonders of the world are found in Xi'an one of the ancient capitals of China. One of the best places to visit in China and a must for tourists. Xi'an has so much to see and do and here we give you the best and worst of Xian for tourists and travelers

We're going to Xi'an this year after being in Chengdu three years ago and Nanchong last year. We really loved Chengdu because the Sichuan cuisine is fantastic! People there were friendly too and the speed of life is low there. We only had one taxi driver that drove like a maniac, the rest of them drove 20 MPH max and 5MPH at intersections where traffic lights have no meaning.
Anyway, I have to eat gluten free and my girlfriend is a vegetarian. This was doable in Chengdu since there is a big tao community and the diverse cuisine has a lot of vegetables, doufu and rice so it was easy to not eat dumplings, soy sauce (has wheat in it most of the time) and other wheat products.
Xi'an though seems to have a lot of meat and dumplings and wheat product food. Is that what you experienced too or is it easy to find meat free food there as well?

Thank you for visiting and making the video! I'm a Xi'an girl, Xi'an is my hometown. Just wanna explain, all of the urbanization you saw was not because we're growing so fast. That's our government's plan and design, we kept them on purpose. Xi'an is an ancient city, we try our best to keep the traditional look as much as possible, especially inside of the city wall. All of the buildings around bell tower/drum tower are not allowed to build too high to cover the view of them, so that's why you still see that. Xi'an is also a tourist city, the traditional culture and look is the main reason people visit there, so we have to make them look as traditional as possible. Ancient and modern look combined, is a specialty of Xi'an too: )
You make me miss lamb soup so much!

Thank you for visiting China. I've seen all your three videos about Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. You talked about the pollution and the smog, and I'm sorry for that. I think it's largely due to the fast industrialization of those regions, like the infrastructure building, manufacturing etc. I hope you can visit southern China a little bit more, not for the historic sites, but for the natural beauty sites. Provinces like Guizhou, Guangxi, Yunnan and Sichuan, and let's not forget, Tibet, are all beautiful. There are much less factories so the pollution is not a problem. Also, these places are much less populated.

Agreed. Rome has many more old archtectures left to be appreaciated.
Actually at its height for 100s of years Xian was the New York City of the world(the reason for Arab/Persian trader/settler influence seen today in Muslim area, even better than Rome. However, even though both two have been sacked X times & torched through wars, unlike Rome where the old stone archtectures are mostly intact, 99% of Xian's great old archtectures were burt away because they were made entirely of wood.

are you sure it is not translated to TASTIEST SOUP EVER MADE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD BECAUSE IT IS AWESOME AND TASTY! I am pretty sure that is how I would translate it; )

Common misconception about lamb dishes being Muslim influence. lamb was a important source of protein for Chinese people for ages. In fact, Chinese people didn't start eating much pork until 1000 years ago during Song dynasty. Qin dynasty predates Song by more than 1000 years.
