LOLOL I am rolling and smiling at the same time. I LOVE THIS! I almost never comment on YouTube but Hey Guy! you got it: P Amanda from Savannah here and as a life-long resident, I am BEAMING to know our Southern hospitality is obvious and others can feel it, too. I was starting to think WE were the only ones that liked US. I wish I had seen this when it first published, but better late than never. P. S. SOMETIMES Bless your Heart means you're one hell of an ugly kid BAHAHAHA Just an FYI; ) Love the videos

Tone is very important with interpreting the phrase, Bless your heart. Most of the time its not meant in a mean way, which confuses some people. Im glad you enjoy visiting the South. Theres so much in the way of culture here, and so many cool places to explore. You should check out the mountains in North Georgia, its beautiful up there and in the Fall there are tons of festivals. You can get all kinds of fresh and preserved produce, too, especially apples.

I live in Tennessee and that comment about the driving is so so so very true. Its so frustrating. People either drive 5-10 mph below the speed limit or theyre going 15+ over and make sure you plan for delays if youre traveling on the interstate because there will almost always be someone in the left lane holding up traffic, either that or road construction

I am a lifelong southerner, so I am used to weird liquor laws. The most southern of southern of these laws has to be that the county where the Jack Daniel's distillery is located is dry. They make the whiskey there, and you are not allowed to purchase it or any other liquor in that county.

Bless your heart is not always bad. Context clues help. If someone is being an idiot then yes it's bad, but in my southern family it's never used in a negative way. Youre sick? Bless your heart. Your mother passed? Bless your heart. Child falls and hurts their knee? Bless their little heart.

I'm from California, and I was stationed in the South when I served in the Marine Corps, and I truly enjoyed my time there. The people are wonderful and so is the food! I still have good friends there! I was in Virginia, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, & Louisiana Time for a roadtrip!

The South is incredibly diverse. The closer you are to big cities like Atlanta the more diluted the southern hospitality gets. Also, lots of variety of food around the south and in recent years food has gotten a lot healthier.
And not every southerner has a strong accent.

Very interesting and entertaining insights into American culture but I must confess the excessive gestures, hand movements and rapid speech of Mark Wolters can be very disconcerting. I enjoy the presentations but find the high speed delivery a little distracting.

I want to go to the South. It's beautiful. I'm not sure if Virginia Kentucky Texas or Florida or the South. The most Hillbillies I met were in Pennsylvania. Not this South. I like friendly people good food and old architecture. I like beaches. Thank you.
