Fans have asked us how we decide where to travel to. Well, it is a combination of three things that help us decide where to visit next. 1. Where are our friends and family. If we can visit friends we will go there to see them and get to know the culture with locals. 2. Our fans inspire us. Many times we have asked our fans where they want us to go and we go where they want us to go. We have ended up in Iceland, Costa Rica, Brazil and Peru because of our fans. 3. Where haven't we been. Well, we are always looking for new fun places to travel and that inspires us too. So what inspires you?

Hi Mark, I'm a fan of your work and considering doing some things in the Tourism industry at some point regarding my own travels across the World. One place I've lived multiple times and think you would love is Taiwan. The night markets offer a lot of phenomenal local cuisine at cheap prices; also, be sure to check out xiao long bao (soup dumplings) at my personal favorite xiao long bao restaurant, Din Tai Fung.
I will probably write my own guidebook on Taiwan one day. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions and/or need any tips to experience Taiwanese culture like a local and maximize your experience. The people there are some of the friendliest you will meet across the World; also, don't call Taiwanese Chinese as they are independent from China (much to China's chagrin. I wrote a 15-20 page paper on Taiwan-China Relations a few years back in my Senior Seminar class for my Global Studies bachelors degree (other degrees are bachelors and master's in Accounting.

Hey Mark. I am huge fan of your videos. It's so nice to have such an experienced traveler giving this advice in such a straightforward way. I had a question for both you and Jocelyn. When the boys get old enough for school, will they go to a traditional US school from September/August through May/June? I ask because I love to travel and a major worry of mine is that when I have children who are ready to enter into the school system, our travel plans will be extremely limited. I have looked at online school programs as well as a relatively new concept called world-schooling. Just wondering if you had any thoughts or advice about the subject of school-age children and travel. Thanks so much, keep up the great work!

I travel to natural places. I'm a bird watcher and keep a life list so I am happy when I see a new species I have never seen before. I like to go to places I see in documentaries. And also many of these natural places are quiet and away from crowds. That's how I enjoy my travel. I just came back from a road trip to Canada from FL and saw three new birds I had not seen before. As well as some new small mammals I had never seen. Successful trip.

important for me is allways the season, because I love sunshine and warm weather, so when choosing a destination I opt for something with better weather than at home in Austria, like the Canarier, Madeira or Caboverde in autumn/winter. When I want to have a cultural trip I check out the Unesco world heritage list.

You should also visit India sometime. Its tougher than Southeast Asia in terms of culture shock and hygiene, but the country is so big and diverse. I went there once, and I came back a within the next year when I had the chance. Its the one country where I always I keep wanting to go back.

Thanks for another wonderful video! My husband and I ran into you on the street [Pikk St] in Tallinn a few weeks ago and he immediately recognized you from your informative videos. You were very kind to stop and say hello. Safe travels!

Hi Mark! Great video I loved it! A quick question, how do I make friends overseas--I know you can meet people and you might know someone in your home country who's from a foreign country, but I don't have an ethnically diverse friend-'circle'

You need to do some videos of other cities in England outside of London (there's loads you need to do love/hate videos about: Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, York, Newcastle, Bristol, Southampton, etc)
