Nebraska: 10 Things Shocks of Nebraska - Wolters World Heather: Nebraska native here. Just a few random things. Runza Hut is okay. I can actually make homemade runzas that are better. However, Amigos (mexican) is AMAZING! You will eat no better soft tacos than Amigos. Especially after the bars close. Dorothy Lynch salad dressing is the absolute BEST, Hidden Valley Ranch runs a close second. Ranch dressing is very popular in Nebraska, and we are PICKY!

I'm from Nebraska and it's great, I moved to Ohio because my dad needed a job but the people you will meet 95% of them are really nice, Runza is perfect for just about any family because it has kids menu's as well as adults, most Runza locations also have a play place inside for the kids so you don't really have to worry about them. The wheater is definitely weird but I got used to it quickly, it could be 40 degrees and I would be wearing a T-shirt. Also, if you driving at night, make sure to look at the sky, the stars are amazing, something you definitely wouldn't see in Ohio. Also, a place called Pizza Ranch is SO GOOD, if you are in Nebraska you have to try it, easily the best pizza place I've ever had. So yeah, just wanted to give some advice to people traveling.

I was in Nebraska in September of 2021 and stopped in Scottsbluff. I am an avid hiker and spent about 3 hours hiking there and at the end stopped in the visitor's center. The volunteer ranger was very nice and I asked him if he knew of any places to eat and one of the places he mentioned was a Runza in town. I ended up eating at another place that he recommended and now can kick myself for not trying out Runza.

You forgot the natural history museum in Lincoln. I don't remember the official name, but it's widely known as Elephant Hall, because of the mammoth skeletons. I want to say Morris Hall, but that doesn't sound right. It's on the UNL campus, just a few blocks from Memorial Stadium.

Nebraska is a wonderful state. Driven in it many times. It certainly is not boring as some people think or say.
People are awesome too! One thing not to miss in Nebraska is the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum in Ashland.
It's just off of I80.

I went to Omaha in June of 2021 and it was incredible! Runza was great and the locals were so friendly. I loved it, I only hear bad things but my first hand experience it's a doll of a city! I had a dream last week I went back lol

Need to go to a pow wow if you ever visit. Just be respectful of their ceremony. Do not call the Indians. Call them by their name, tribe (sioux, Lakota, etc) or native American.

We really do measure distance in time. If you ask someone how far you are from Lincoln, when you are in Ashland, they'll say Lincoln's about a half hour southwest of here
