Heyy I am so sorry that you had to go through that and especially as a 14 year old. Being born n living in India this is something that we locals do experience a lot of the time and I myself have been in such a situation sadly too many times!
To people who are travelling (especially solo women) this country has A LOT to offer and is genuinely the one of the most cultural diverse nation with warm welcome people. However, it-s important to carry safety measures while travelling solo here since there is a certain population that pry on foreigners (especially women) just for the sake of enjoyment. So PLEASE BE SAFE!

There are many creeps in India no doubt-you were 14 which was 1 or 2 decades ago, it-s not the same now atleast in the cities -. indians in rural areas still look at foreigners as if they are from a different planet so they would start clicking your pics and will be staring at you and your clothes because they are not used to seeing women in short clothes -most of them are covered it-s like when you are in saudi not that extreme though-the main issue is education and most of them have not seen much life outside-now there s a huge difference but I agree women cannot travel as freely as men here -!

I don't think people understand how much more risk a woman can take in solo traveling, especially to certain places. I loved India and never felt in danger, but I know so many women who had very scary experiences there (one was stabbed and nearly raped. I'm not knocking India, but different cultures have very different views on a woman's role in society. I know many want to be as diplomatic as possible, but being perfectly honest, certain countries don't view women on the same level and men in terms of human rights.

Being an Indian, I am truly sorry for the experience you had! It is sad that how disgusting and uncomforting the people here can be and not let tourists explore the real India! There is so much to explore in this country but no one is ready to accept that it's not safe here and ask those people to change.
People traveling to India should try to stay in good properties, please avoid couch surfing and never say you are traveling alone. Also, we do have good people here but it's not fine to trust a lot. Safe Travels!

Yeah anybody that's doing traveling and all and making videos about it and they never mention the bad, those people are trash in my book because they're basically fake. and I'm like this if you're driving to town and you come across a part of the road that has fallen into a sinkhole but you cannot tell until you get right up on it and then you come back and talk to me after turning around and don't say a word after I tell you I'm headed that direction. your sorry.

It is very sad and horrifying to hear.
I still can't forget two dutch girls went missing in Panamanian jungle. Later their bones were discovered. Mistreat someone for being women is very unfair.
Even in my own local area girls even boys can't go out at night. It isn't about girls or boys it all about moral of people.
I wish one day world will be much safer for girls and for everyone. Wish you all the best brave lady.

I'm sorry that you had to endure these experiences. I feel awful about the lady whose baggage was stolen on a boat. I also travelled solo around the world, including warzones, and have been a victim of pickpocketing, harassment, and discrimination, but being a man, was never in any serious danger. It is certainly easier to travel with a fellow traveler for safety and to commiserate with, even if it is someone like mom. :-)

Hey Lexie-I like you videos a lot but recently I saw a video in which you said over a phonecall to your boyfriend that India is a harsh place and he would get eaten alive-honestly I felt you went a bit overboard-you can talk about your experience and ask him to be careful instead you were just giggling and bringing down the whole nation-do ask your bf if he had a good experience?

I watched this video a week ago, it-s been bothering me a lot so I had to comment. I am so embarrassed to be a male in this world of today. Women DO NOT deserve to be treated like this way under any circumstance! I-m so angry about this!
