A little commentary: most of Lima's houses and apartrments in the nice areas like Miraflores, San Isidro, and so on, have usually maids living at home. That is why ther'e is a petite room-and-a-bath for her. In this apt, it would be the room you called the pantry (behind the kitchen) and the small bathroom there, nothing misterious about it! I hope you come again to this beautiful country, full of contrasts and full of everything, in Lima as well as in provinces.

The breakfast in Peru is delicious, and nutritious! My favorite is tacu tacu with an egg, a French bread roll, and maracuya juice. It is great! Pan Frances con palta, another favorite. And the occasional weekend Peruvian tamal, with the Peruvian sauce, salsa criolla, and Chanchamayo coffee, also great! -

The truth is Miraflores has always been a tourist trap. The delinquents in Lima go there to con and rob the tourists. The food is ok. But watch your belongings. And the prostitutes are all over the place. Thick as flies.

Mark, you were surprise to know that apartments in the back have a small room with bathroom inside. That is an area called Area de Servicio, and it is usually a bedroom for a domestic helper at home.

Mayo in Peru is like our ranch dressing. I used to live there. Try yellow potatoes and purple sweet potatoes. I love the fresh fruit and yellow beans and lamb. So much fun there!

I am sorry to tell you but that is not a secret bathroom, that area is the maid-s area, included the bedroom. In Peru most of the middle and hight class have a living in maid.

OMG Mark. I actually stayed in exact same apartment February of last year. What're the odds lol. La Lucha was awesome too. The lady we rented the place from recommend it.
