Great Sand Dunes & Mesa Verde National Park in 4K - Colorado Hiking - Find Your Park Expedition travel: I've been to Mesa Verde and it's beautiful and amazing. The Anasazi people once dwelled on the land above the cliff. It's said that Anasazi translates to mean ancient enemy but the Anasazi were a peace loving people who were busy growing food. They were threatened by a neighboring war tribe, I don't remember which. Since the Anasazi were a peaceful people they decided to scale down the cliff face beneath them and built a city into the cave crevices which protected them from other tribes and adverse weather events. At one point in history the Anasazi mysteriously disappeared and to this day nobody really knows why they left, only that it happened quickly. Mesa Verde is a beautiful stone city built into the caves of the cliff crevices. One of the best ancient ruin sites. Carlsbad Caverns in NM is amazing too, hundreds of feet into the earth. If you have never been i highly recommend it.

I have watched many of your videos and have enjoyed them all. This video with your different twist on it was a very interesting change of pace. I like your perspective, having your background really allows you to look at it from a point of view that not everyone can see or have an understanding with. I don't see many Asian people on the trails in my area (SE PA) but in Harriman State Park in New York, there are often groups of hikers with similar backgrounds as yours. The biggest difference is the language barrier. Often times we would say good morning or hello and not get any response, I know they're not being rude, I think they just don't understand. I always enjoy seeing people come to the woods to enjoy nature. It's a beautiful and peaceful place we should all take the time to respect and enjoy.

Slowly making my way through all your videos. Your comment on being Asian/a POC who is interested in the outdoors and how people tend to be shocked or not believe that you are outdoorsy is really poignant. As a multiracial female of color, aside from the native american stereotyping, I also definitely feel this and it is great to see you guys out on the trail!
I also think your way of presenting nature in a much more calm Thoreau-esque vibe is wonderful and fights against the idea that nature is something to be conquered. It is why you are by far my favorite hiking/nature based program. : ) Keep it up!

Love y'alls videos and love the dedication to nature and outdoor recreation in all of your comment. My only suggestion is try to keep the political rhetoric to a bare minimum and keep the main content about the outdoors. We're all engulfed in the fumes of politics and political correctness every single day, and some would like to take a break from all of it. Just my opinion, but please try to keep it all minimal. Other than that, keep up the awesome work!

Why do the park officials want more people in the parks? Because there is not enough money to keep them open any more. Your politicians are spending all the money that should go to parks on other things like war. Death Valley National Park is all but closed due to lack of funding. More the parks will follow. Today's government does not care about national parks. They are hell bent on destroying the economy and enslaving who ever is left alive.

Every evening I come home from work in an office, I watch your vids and somehow they are like medication to me. Something that I can put over the scratches and wounds of the day. The words cannot even describe how much it means to me. Thank you, Andrew for your kind words and, without any doubts, amazing skills and knowledge. You, Robbie and Bryan are such an inspiration and pleasure to be with. One big thank you from me, guys! :)

to me it sounds ironic that lack of attendee diversity is constantly reinforced as an issue in this video. In my anecdotal experience, every visit I make to national parks and state parks there are more -minority- american and international attendees than otherwise. So I dont know where this concept comes from, unless I have had numerous atypical experiences since I was a kid.

I too am an asian american male that adores the outdoors and I totally understand your viewpoint. Glad you and the rest of the Adventure Archives crew make these videos to kind of break that social norm. Thomas is great too lol
p. s. I'll be heading to Yosemite in a week and you guys have inspired me to hike to the top of Yosemite falls

I was living in Denver when This was posted. A strange feeling knowing that you passed me by. A beautiful story. A beautiful journey. Unfortunately I'm one of the people you talked about not being able to escape my job and visit the wonderous places in my own state. I suppose that's why I enjoy watching these videos so much: D

-If you dont feel like a park is telling the whole story. Go there. Tell your story. - Thanks man great advice. Applys to so much more than just parks/hiking. For me -the trail- wherever it may be is one of the best ways to experience the human family that we are constantly told is separate but is actually just ONE BIG CRAZY FAMILY.
