Red Rock Canyon in 4K - Overnight Camping and Hiking near Los Angeles Bryce: Great to see another enjoyable Southern California episode. I'll have to check this out on my next trip down there.
I was just down to Anza Borrego hiking about of the PCT that runs through the park. The wildflowers are everything the media has reported, especially in the backcountry. If you have a chance to get out there in the next bit, you may find them still in bloom. Everything from tiny little flowers you have to kneel down to see properly to 6m tall agave flower stalks, in all shares and combinations.
The deserts of the Southwest are really inspiring. Thanks for sharing them with us.

What a bozo. #1. Get a lantern. Campfires aren-t lighting. #2 Get a lighter. Using a flint is just showing off in a car camping situation, except you failed at it, so why would you put that failure in a video? #3 watching you eat breakfast and walk in slow motion is boring AF. You are so self absorbed and vain that you think people care about seeing you in fresh from REI attire (were the tags still on those pants) and your cheesy video production skills more than the natural environment.

Shavings are a good material that catch a flame from other tinder. You need something fine and flammable to catch a spark from a ferro rod. Something like processed cedar bark, cotton, fuzzy dry plant material, etc. Drier lint is a great material for catching sparks as well.
Personally I use fatwood dust and shavings because we have an abundance of fatwood producing pine trees around here.

Thomas go backpack Joshua Tree, Boy Scout Trail. Your close to that and its perfect weather right now. I just backpacked that trail two weeks ago and it was amazing. Great video and thumbs up and awesome to see you outdoors too

We happened by Red Rock Canyon on the way to Zion NP. It was a really nice stop as we saw bunch of wildlife. A lot of road runners and bighorn in particular. Thanks for sharing Thomas!

Red Rock Canyon is one of my favorite places. Every other January my scout troop used to stay there over a weekend. I did the majority of my wilderness survival training there.

Red Rock State Park was my first desert hike & camp, stayed there back in '08. The metal band WASP filmed a cheesy music video for the song Wild Child there in the mid 80's!

Excuse me for being so critical, but it's reasonable to just use a bic lighter to get your kindling started. It's just car camping. Props for the cooking though!

I love Red Rock Canyon, but when I was out there I saw -No Camping- signs everywhere. I guess that I just didn't go to the right places. Thanks for bringing us along!

Probably the best breakfast I have seen cooked and eaten in an AdArc video (apart from all the after-hike restaurant stuff. And that place looks so serene.
