Join me on this nine hour journey from Bavaria to Washington, DC onboard one of Lufthansas newest planes: The A350. Lufthansa chose not to innovate with the design of their Airbus A350, opting instead for consistency. In this video, well explore the Lufthansa lounges in Munich, the Lufthansa Inflight Entertainment, the Lufthansa food (including their famous Christmas Goose, and the Lufthansa Service. Well pay particular attention to Lufthansa A350 Business Class seat because thats where most Lufthansa business class passengers will spend most of their time. Why do you think Lufthansa chose not to upgrade their business class? Lufthansa A350 Business Class from Munich to Washington was a very exciting flight and I cant wait to share it with you in this video! In this video, well determine a JebScore for the flight. See how it stacks up against other flights, head here: For the full take-off and landing footage, go here: For the full menus, go here

I just flew on Lufthansa's A350 business class, and was very disappointed. The seats were of their old style, and cramped, the seat adjustment buttons only worked part of the time, no FWD lavatory, so the 2 AFT lavs were always busy, and the tray tables were very difficult to bring out and stow. Several passengers around me had the same issues. I really did enjoy the live video feeds and the food was actually ok, and plentiful, but the business class cabin felt very cramped. Seems like other airlines have outfitted their A350s and 787s in a much nicer configuration. I've seen recent videos of new 737 Max's with better looking business class products. Lufthansa really needs to update their business class seating. The service though, was outstanding.

Frankfurt Airport is the worse airport on the planet. A disaster. Easy to get lost, hours waiting in line for security / passport control. Some terminals not enough toilets. This Business Class looks awful compared to Qatar. I was alone at the window with private door. Here you are in the wide open with 2 seats. No privacy. Also Lufthansa economy sucks with awful legroom and small meals. LOOOL that young lady has her shoes on the seat! The only thing I like are the pillows. LOL you finally show the desert. You make great videos!

Frankfurt Vs Munich? If you have to transfer between Schengen and Non-Schengen zones then not only Munich is (probably) the best in Europe but you would avoid Frankfurt at all cost.
At MUC there's no bag scan when you switch the zone, but there're endless checks at FRA. Besides, staff at Frankfurt always take the piss out of me! So inefficient so un-German. I missed the connecting flight because the security staff at the x-ray machine were too busy chatting, despite a long queue of passengers.

Agree about the layout of the cabin. I havent flown Lufthansa since I was a child in the 90s but remember them fondly. I think this business class product is still superior to Emirates 777 business at 2-3-2 configuration which Im flying with my wife next month from Chicago. Im using miles but would be disappointed more had I paid the cash premium for that crowded cabin. Great video Jeb.

Yeah, for a five-star carrier, one would expect LH to be 1-2-1 in business class. Luckily it is acquiring ex-Philippine Airlines A350s to get the 1-2-1 seats.
You should see Nonstop Dan's video that shows a fairly traumatic experience on the 747-400 in business class. The real downer for him was the crew, so I was pretty surprised your crew gave you a 4-star service.

It's beyond my logical thinking to wonder why business class isn't more private like Qatar's business class. With males flying economy on airlines and feeling that it is ok to touch a female next to them while they are not aware, why would anyone take the chance and sleep next to a total stranger. These seats are way to open and asking for trouble.

Dear Jeb. Excellent video. I totally understand what you say about 1-2-1 vs 2-2-2 or 2-3-2. Can you please explain how many seats an airline would get in their business class cabin between choosing a 1-2-1 vs a 2-2-2 configuration. From my experience 1-2-1 have less seats per row but the rows are closer to each-other.

I would NOT fly Lufthansa A350, You are paying for a business class seat, but receive something just a little better than a premium economy seat. Having been on the Finnair A350, and other carriers, which feature a total flat bed, how could one settle for such an inferior seat. Thank you for the video

Great video. I personally wouldn't like that seat. I'd prefer one a bit further forward so I can look back at that giant engine inlet, or further back slightly behind the wing so I could look out over the wing and watch the flaps, ailerons and all the different flight control surfaces move.

Hey I was wondering have you ever flown Air New Zealand or is it an airline you plan to fly in the future. I will be flying the Boeing triple 7 -300 this May from Los Angeles to London in economy and have been watching videos would love to get your perspective on this airline.

Lufthansa, along with BA and Iberia are mediocre and over-priced, no matter what class you fly in. And don't be fooled by the 5 rating. Every avgeek knows ScamTrax is compromised by $$$$ But that a350 is a stunning aircraft though, one of my new favourites.

Seats are really poor - feels like a cheap air mattress and is also narrow. Several features at my seat where also broken. Disappointing business class experience. Loved your video though - you always manage to present facts in a real balanced way

I feel like Lufthansa has lots to improve for their business class such as the unacceptable 2-2-2 configuration. Thye should probably try smth like a 1-2-1 configuration or they could put business suites like what Malaysia airlines did

You flew right over my house! I love watching the transatlantic flights going both directions from the coast of Maine. I always wonder where people in the planes are going and if they are looking down at us while Im looking up at them.

Munich was incredibly clean and organized when I went through on my way back to the states. I flew into Frankfurt on my way in and in my opinion it was much more chaotic and even a bit filthy. Munich all the way.

I flew on the Lufthansa 747-8 and it was awesome. I would like to fly on the a350 next time.
Best flight was over twenty years ago on a old 767. Plenty of room and a comfy 2-3-2 in economy! AA I believe

I love Munich's airport. US Army stationed in Germany for nearly 5 years. I once made it from my parents house outside of Philly to my base in far eastern Germany in alittle than 12 hours.
Crazy fast!

Lufthansa is a 5 star airline because of it's service and little things. The soft product is a lot more memorable on a flight then the hard product, and that is what they want to specialize in.
reply

As someone who has connected through both Frankfurt and Munich, I can say that the Munich airport is better because 1. There are more food options 2. More flights 3. Less people at the lounges.

You know what?
U r a lucky man. u live a life that I don't even dare to dream of. you should thank God every day for this. wish you good luck always. great videos. greeting from Syria bro

2-2-2 is a disgrace for new airplanes that have luxurious business class. When spending that much money I refuse of have to step over someone for the aisle. Lufthansa get it together haha
reply

I've connected through Munich and Frankfurt, and frankly, I'd prefer Frankfort. I don't mind using remote gate stands, and I find the airport less crowded and generally more comfortable.
reply

I always hated Frankfurt and the extremely long walks. I preferred Munich which wasn't so dingy as Frankfurt but Frankfurt is much improved from years past and Munich is really full now.

Flown the A350 from Munich to Singapore on Economy last year. Munich Airport is great and I enjoyed the 12 hour flight to Singapore. Cathay's A350 is pretty much the same experience: -)
reply

Naaahhhhhhhhhhh don't like the seat at all. A330 business class configuration on an A350 way not worth the espensive ticket you paid. And Lufthansa's ticket is always espensive
reply

This business class is awful. No privacy, seat are not wide enough and suprisingly not really comfy in full flat mode. Don't understand some many still enhance LH.
reply

Ive flown on the 747-8 on the upper deck business class with Lufthansa and I have to agree with you. Just like a fully business class 737. Also its super quiet.
reply

if I have to stay in the airport ill transit through Frankfurt for sure. if I have time to go out and explore or whatnot, I'll take Munich instead.
reply

Hi Jeb! You should really try flying Pegasus, low budget and TERRIBLE. I'd love to hear your experience bc im never flying with them again, haha.
reply

Lufthansa is still my favorite airline. Seat configuration is up to the airline but Im not complaining because it isnt Ryanair
