In this video, well explore a bit of Miniatur Wunderland, the worlds largest model railway. Well spend most of the time watching the action at Miniatur Wunderland Airport, an unbelievable scale model of Hamburgs Airport. Miniatur Wunderland Airport includes all of the action of the real thing, just on a smaller scale. Miniatur Wunderland Airport took 150, 000 hours of work to build. Miniatur Wunderland Airport has 40, 000 LED bulbs, 62 miles of wiring, 50, 000 lines of code. The cost to build Miniatur Wunderland Airport? Four million Euros. While Miniatur Wunderland Airport was not quite as expensive as the real Hamburg Airport, this is one serious exhibit! Miniatur Wunderland Airport hosts around 250 takeoffs and landings each day. There are 787s, A330s, 777s, 747s, even Concorde! There are a host of support vehicles at Miniatur Wunderland Airport. Everything from a Miniatur Wunderland Airport fire department to catering trucks and super tugs, Miniatur Wunderland Airport has it all. Perhaps most striking is just how similar it is to the real thing! Tickets for adults to enter Miniatur Wunderland are about 15 Euros, kids get in for half of that price. You can book your ticket online, which might help you skip the lines, which can get pretty long at certain times of the year. Oh, and by the way, this is NOT a sponsored video. I paid for my ticket. Here's a link to the website to book your Miniatur Wunderland tickets

You said that you wish other cities would offer something like Miniatur Wunderland, right? Well in New York at Times Square, theres this place called Gulivers Gate. I went there last summer and it was pretty sick. Its pretty similar to Wunderland. They both have the same concept of having different locations of the world as different exhibits. They both have huge layouts of trains and vehicles and my favorite part, the airport. Not as exciting as Wunderland but its still pretty cool. They do have computerized planes that takeoff but the sad thing is, if I remember it correctly, the only planes I remember seeing were 737s and maybe some A380s. But otherwise, I totally recommend it!

Im 2 years too late to this video but Ive been here a couple of times (both before this video came out. I dont know what the weird truck is, but theres a little bit of goofiness sprinkled all around the exhibit. I dont know if theyve changed it, but when I was there, the Millennium Falcon landed and took off, and a giant bee just literally buzzed across. I dont know if theres one right at the airport scene, but theres even a couple of Waldo appearances here and there.

Im fortunate to have traveled to Hamburg twice on a Princess Cruise ship. The first time we visited another part of the City - but upon reboarding the ship, we heard the raves from other passengers about Miniature Wonderland. The next time we visited Hamburg we walked from the dock over to this amazing place. IMHO this is a must-do in Hamburg!
If I ever go back - I guess well visit the Airbus factory if possible. Thanks for the idea.

Having Lived in Berlin, I loved going on trips to Hamburg.
I love the city and especially the Miniaturwunderland is a wonderful place to visit.
Glad you went to see a piece of Hamburg not many tourists see!
Also, i stayed at the cockpit hotel, which allows for excellent planespotting from the window

Jen - whats with the teasers? To me, it is very irritating to click on a video and be told to return later. Dont like it at all. I still enjoy your content, though!

HI Jeb. I don't know if you're still seeing this considering its an older video but I am happy to say that I was the 5000th like on this video!

I'm in Awe Jeb! Seeing you as a kid in a candy store and Christmas rolled all in one! Hamburg will be my first stop on my next Europe trip!

I dreamt of something like this when I was a teen, in the 80s, more so on the aviation part. So happy to see a similar mind acted on it!

Its not a replica of the Hamburg Airport, its the airport for their own made up city called Knuffingen. It is similar yes but not the same

The little blue elephant car is actually a little vacuum that drives around cleaning the road to help them with dust control.

If they were to add emergency landings and failures on planes, that would be awesome, and have concorde turn on the afterburners

Already scratch that off bucket list. Seen it 10yrs ago. It just you blow away. The airport still being built at time.

Unable to believe that it is a museum or real world. Unbelievable Creation.

I have been there two times and can't wait to go back. Hint- you can't begin to see everything in one day.

There is one of the exhibits in downtown Houston Texas across from the 1st floor of Texas childrens hospital

If you see a strange vehicle moving inside the scenario, probably it must be a track/surface cleaner.

I would buy that whole mini airport just so I could act like a giant that wants to destroy everything
