When you think about seeing the action at LAX, there's only one planespotting location that comes to mind: The In-N-Out Burger at 9149 S Sepulveda Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045. In this video, I'll share some of the planes I spotted while I was there one Saturday morning in January. It was a fun few hours and culminated in a killer cheeseburger from the In-N-Out Burger LAX. Now this is a good one, JB. (We are so much alike; I'd ask for an In-N-Out staff hat myself) I was going to ask, Are the trees always in the way? but see you changed your location. The Southerner in us won't ask people to move over so we can get a better shot. I can recommend a good hotel for LAX overnights, not those crammed and worn out nearby salesmen's hotels like Sheraton (ugh) and Hilton (double ugh. The Ritz-Carlton, Marina Del Rey is just a few miles up the road and well worth the trouble if you're staying at the airport for awhile. That In-N-Out is famous among spotters the world over. I'm wishing they'd open franchises in the South. Thanks for your efforts, Jeb.

Plane spotting LAX location. Glad you heard about Imperial hill, by the mortuary of all places!
Try the dunes at the west end of LAX. Access off Pershing Dr, just N of World Way West. There is a whole backstory about the neighborhood that was torn down in the 60s to expand LAX, but that never happened. I can tell you that area saw alot of nite time plane watching when I was in high school in the 70s. Probably would have been helpful to have a convertible, since the view from the back seat wasnt great.
Enjoy

Salt Lake City USED to have a golf course (Wingpointe) between the two main run-ways. It was a great place to watch planes, play golf, and have great views of the mountains. It was run by Salt Lake City who decided they couldn't fund the course any more - something about actual value of the land. The course is now vacant with no income being generated - so the actual commercial value was a farse to close it down. Anyway, it was a great place to watch planes.

Cheyenne Regional Airport in Cheyenne, Wy
As an FAA high altitude test center. I've seen the 737max, 787, CS200 (now Airbus A220) and Embraer E-series prior to their final FAA certifications while still in manufacture livery.
We're also a divert field for Denver Intl so when that airport closes due To Summer weather our runways see everything from CRJ-200 up to A350s and 777s. Even the occasional 747.

Hey, Jeb, great video as always! I'm sure you've gotten this question before so forgive my ignorance. If you love flying and planes and all that as much as I can see in your videos, have you ever considered taking flight lessons yourself!
Shameless plug coming I'm a CFI & an airline pilot and would love to take you on a intro flight and show you what it's like upfront.
Let me know!

Jeb Brooks at 4: 58 that Boeing 747SP used to be owned by the now bankrupt Trans-World Airlines (TWA) registered as N58201 now registered as VP-BLK owned by the Sands Corporation of Las Vegas! Awesome that you saw a 747 SP especially one that used to be one of TWAs

If you visit Washington DC go to Gravelly Point on the Virginia side. Its great fun watching flights come into KDCA over the Potomac while maneuvering to keep out of the restricted airspace over DC.

One of my fave In n out locations. But to make the line go faster, you end up coaching all the first timers ahead of you in line.
Try SAN. You can spot from the freeway.

The afternoon I did that InnOut watched Obama arrive on Air Force One. At first thought it was a KLM 744 given the blue and white paint scheme of both.

My childhood was spent here lol. I used to live right down the street towards the west and the golf course you see is where I stated at 18 months.
