I flew to New York last November and being a former Flight Attendant with 7 years on Concorde and an AvGeek, I took a circuitous route.
All in Business.
Swiss was operating the 333 LHR-ZRH and I was very disappointed in the lack of storage.
I was allowed to sit in F for landing which looked impressive.
The following day I flew ZRH-MIA on the 343 which apparently had been refurbished but was not overly impressed.
A great number of LX flights all leave around the same time so it was very difficult to find a seat in the E Gates Lounge.
Service was OK.
MIA-EWR on UA 752 was great with flat beds.
Returned EWR-GVA on UA 763 which was excellent.
All Swiss Lounges were still closed so we were directed to a very basic third party one.
My first trip on the 221 was very impressive. Super aircraft.
Swiss did not really come up to my expectations.

Our flight in September 2022 from Boston to Zurich in business class was horrific! First, my seat did not inflate, so I was sitting on plywood. Second, there were no alternatives and the flight attendants avoided me at all costs. We could not rest and I arrived in Zurich with no sleep BUT with a promise that Swiss would take care of the seat. Never did after months of contact. Plus, Swiss lost our bags! We didnt receive them until a week after we returned to Boston. I 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND flying Swiss Air. I had nothing but frustration, unprofessional stewards and lies about taking care of the extremely expensive seat. Never again!

My two favorite star alliance carriers are Lufthansa and United. I haven't flown Swiss but I have flow Air Canada accross the atlantic to Dublin and it was a blast but I would still rather fly through O'hare or Frankfurt over Toronto airport personally but my family also avoids Heathrow like the plague when flying something other than Star Alliance but that could be because I would prefer to fly Star Aliiance carriers then SkyTeam then OneWorld because I've had too many problems flying American Airlines and Brisitish Airways.

Thanks for the review Jeb. I'm flying LX22 in business June 2023 (my outbound is SQ25 to FRA. I'm excited about the food! I will say the IFE really looks dated but that certainly isn't a deal breaker. This route happens to begin in Switzerland for you but I feel like all of your videos have Swiss easter eggs. most people saw that Pinot Noir, I saw the Pepsi. bezel; !

Believe it or not a lot of small arms are shipped from Switzerland to the United States
People have as much passion about their firearms as they do their watches and the yes the quality is amazing and they are made just as nice as there time pieces.
If you hate guns and think they are mean, sorry to have offended you and your feelings.

Another nice video review of an airline I would hopefully fly on in the future and fly with them in business or first class. I like how you thanked and acknowledged all the other airport workers. I know it is your video, but if I made a video, I would say baggage loaders and unloaders instead of throwers even though that is what some may do.

That seat is extremely claustrophobic! You can't move without bumping into something. The meal service looked okay except for that sandwich in a bag - that looked very much like shopping center food court from Subway. Overall everything looked okay but there are far better trans Atlantic accomodations and food services on other carriers.

Jeb, thoroughly enjoying your travel-videos. [ Some 'constructive criticism', however: sometimes the 'background music' can be a little on the 'intrusive' side. This might purely be to do with the volume of same. ] Relatedly, 'Swiss', and their 'fetish' for all things 'brown leather', though. #A220 #BrownLeatherSeats

I dont know how many times it has to be repeated: SWISS is not the national airline of Switzerland. That one was called SWISSAIR and went out of business decades ago. SWISS is owned by Lufthansa, so it's a german subsidiary. Therefore the sloppy product. Switzerland no longer has a national airline.

As a previous frequent Lufthansa flyer, your experience is spot on. Theres no real discernible difference between the lounges. Sometimes the food offering is slightly better in the Senator lounge, but the only tangible benefit Ive found is that the Senator lounge can be lees busy sometimes.

What? No air vents on this aircraft? (5: 24) That is news to me and difficult to fathom.
Retired airline captain here, who flew Star Alliance B-767 and A-330 aircraft across the pond weekly for years. I prefer the Boeing overall, but as Airbus go, the 330 is a very nice ride.

I really like you reports, not too long and you are so positive. I worked for Swissport during my time as a student, I know how hard work the loading of luggage is. If it is 30 Celsius, the Tarmac can reach more than 40. All the beste to you!

Swiss is definitely the best European Airline. After a Long time of pandemic they are not on the same level since before. I am optimistic for the future! The service and food in the Lounges, the First and Business is very very Good!

Of all business class flights I have been on Swiss Air was the worst. The air was really hot during the entire flight and almost unbearable. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and the food was mediocre. Anyways, just my opinion!

My business class flights with Swiss from Zurich to NYC and back were okay. But sadly the food delivered on board on both flights, though with a supposed chef's signature, was tasteless, a joke, and I am really no fussy eater.

That seat in the flat position feels like you are in a coffin. If you have any claustrophobia issues, sleep sitting up. Their food in business from SFO to ZRH was better than most restaurants in San Francisco.

I generally fly to Europe out of LAX and the long flights give a great experience in most any business class. Turkish is my #1, then Austrian and Swiss tied for #2. Thanks for another nice review, Jeb.

its so sad swiss isent actually a swiss airline anymore, its actually part of lufthansa, i think an actual swiss swiss airlines would have a much higher quality product, and more expensive obviously.
reply

My favourite star alliance airlines would be singapore airlines because it has best first class sit on the A380 second would be swiss then third would be air Canada the fourth is United airlines
reply

Geneva is a destination that's somewhat lacking in transatlantic services. Currently, all it gets insofar as transatlantics are this flight and a few United flights (with 767s to EWR and IAD.

Was just in Geneva for the first time earlier this month for work--it was my first international trip in over a decade and I had such a good time.
Loved the international terminal.

Air Canada shouldn't be on any list other than worst airlines, and then it would be next to American airlines. Funny how both the national named airlines are utter garbage.
reply

Business class is always a good choice for transatlantic flights. I still prefer Aer Lingus from Dublin to NYC. Much better and much cheaper. Swiss is well overpriced

6: 28 the shoutouts for the behind-the-scenes workers is nice and i applaud you for that, but i'm wondering if there's any meaning behind the fact he said 'bag-THROWERS'.

Why don't more airlines include asparagus on their plates?
Perhaps there is a couple of reasons. The asparagus season tends to be very short and. asparagus pee?

Flown swiss to Europe 3 times in the last 7 yrs never an issue excellent service my go to airline when I travel to Switzerland
reply

As you rightly mentioned, the airport ground staff and associated personnel have to be appreciated and thanked big time!

British Airways, Swiss, Lufthansa are airlines I have enjoyed! Despise any US flights! The US carriers are the worst!
