I started packing a small packable handbag (DC Metro Silver Line Ph2 Opening) and one of those drawstring backpacks and its a game changer. I use the small one when I'm at a con and wanna buy merch and the drawstring bag for walking around and just wanna keep some stuff close. The documents folder is an excellent add on. I like to print out boarding, hotel, and conference docs in case my phone dies.
Yes to the travel EDC. I'd love to get tips for stowing smaller items into pouches.

First - you have a really nice Dollar Store. The one near us is woefully under stocked. Second - I do most of these - always travel with ziploc bags - they are the duct tape of travel. Always buy my toothpaste and shaving cream at the Dollar Store - the 2. 7 ounce size is ideal. I have a blue ribbon on my bag, a cough drop/life saver combo bag in my briefcase, and buy snacks. Hadn't thought of the dryer sheets - good idea there. Thanks!

Great video Jeb! I definitely use some of these tricks and tips like cough drops & ziplock bags. Also I love the shower cap tip for the shoes! GENIUS! Also I always stock up on snacks before flying somewhere and I always pack a battery pack especially when filming my travels it never hurts! I really enjoyed this video format keep it up!
Cheers to Dollar Tree I guess!

Jeb, yes! Most expert travel tips work well in the EDC life - having small zip bags, first aid kits, in your daily carry bag.
I see a travel video mini-series: dollar store travel finds; best bags (checked luggage, carry on, daypacks, backpacks); travel snacks; personal safety when traveling; etc.
Thank you and Suzanne for your knowledge and expertise!

Hey guys, happy Saturday! I'd definitely like to see a packing hacks episode. Along the same lines, maybe episode on travel clothing (doing laundry in your room) and electronics/gadgets. I like the name of your licorice, Wiley Wallaby. good for a trip down under, eh Enjoy your trip to California, the sunshine is back. for the time being, anyway. Happy trails!

Don't forget there's $5 off coupon on Saturday at Dollar General if you spend $25 or more along with great coupons you find them on Dollar store website and be a dollar store website member to find a better deal. Thanks me for this and I do use dollar story website to shop and use coupons and I did finish my holiday shopping during same way

Nice video. I use some of these tricks myself. Here’s one for you. I don’t use the painters tape, but gaffer tape (I’m a photographer. But, take your painters tape and wrap it around an old used gift card or hotel room key card. You can get several feet of it and it’s not much thicker than the card. Packs easier.

Great ideas! A little bit of money at the dollar store can make a big impact when traveling, and it's much easier than trying to find the store when you reach your destination. I had to adhere a sticker to my bag so I can identify it. It does make it easier to locate when it comes around the carousel.

YESSSSS to the Cough Drops hack (also hard candy like Jolly Ranchers or Life Savers work too: ). Also throwing Hair Ties and rubber bands into the mix- they can help with some quick clothing/bag repairs (if say a button pops or a zipper breaks- not a permanent solution but still helpful)

Ziploc bags are also great for keeping stuff organized and for shaving a little time off at security checkpoints. Ponchos are great too. Also an eyeglass repair kit. You never know when you’re going to need to tighten the screws on your sunglasses or change the battery on your fitness band.

Love the video! My favorite cough drops for flying are Sucretes (may be hard to find! But worth it) they have medication in them that will numb that itchy throat feeling from the dry air, and save you if you start having a coughing fit like a weirdo for no reason! That’s me haha

Jeb and Suzanne, thank you so much for this video! Another great thing to have, would be clothespins or clips for when the drapes in the hotel room don't stay completely shut. A friend of ours shard that with us, and we're passing along the info to you.

Hello Jeb and Suzane. This video really threw me off. However, very helpful. Even though I don't fly, when I take Amtrak I do take my Battleship game with me. It's bigger than the one shown in this video. Yet fun since I usually travel alone.

'Dollar Tree' has been my go-to for a few years now for some of the same travel items in this video. Good suggestions for a few more things I'll pick up next time. Thanks! edit: I would love to see some of your packing hacks as well.

Love this! Your enthusiasm is infectious and a main reason I love your videos. It may sound weird, but your videos got me through a lot of hard times. Your high energy and positivity truly does impact, thank you guys for your videos!

I would be very careful using that power outlet splitter from the dollar store. The insides of it may not actually be up to carrying the load of 3 outlets. Especially if you start charging your phone and laptop at the same time.

I have been doing all of this for years, with one difference: Instead of dryer sheets to keep my suitcase fresh, I use a Little Tree Black Ice air freshener, the kind you'd normally put in your car. I find they last longer.

My travel hack is have one electrical connector that covererts USA power point to Australia and plug that into an Australian multi board. So I can charge stuff in one spot and I don’t need to buy heaps of USA chargers

Taking a train from California Are you taking the California Zephyr or the Coast Starlight Either route is gorgeous. Although the Zephyr through the Sierras and the Rockies through the Winter Snow are particularly lovely.
