Separated in Cuba - Our Hilariously Bad Shared Taxi Experience - Havana to Vinales Sara: Watching the Cuba vlogs from Kara and Nate's trip breaks my heart, because I am Cuban born and it is so painful to see what Communism has done to this once thriving country before the socialist revolution. I would like Nate and Kara to know that the food tour they took in Havana is not representative of what Cuban food used to be in Cuba. You were fed bread buns with a piece of guava, or a pasty spread because that is all the Cuban people have to eat. The tourists may get to enjoy a little better selection of dishes, but the people in Cuba are starving. They eat whatever they can get, and usually that is a piece of bread with anything they can find as a filler.
Nate, you were not able to get a Cuban sandwich in Cuba because they don't have the ingredients to make it. You mentioned that if you want a Cuban sandwich you have to go to Miami because Cuban sandwiches were invented by Cuban Americans in Miami. Let me say to you Nate, That is not the case. The Cuban sandwich was always Cuban and originates from Cuba, but in today's Cuba where they lack everything, where are they going to get the ham, the pork, the Cuban bread, and everything else that is piled into a Cuban sandwich? That is the reason you couldn't find it in today's Cuba. It is not an invention by Cuban Americans. The Cuban sandwich is authentically Cuban, from Cuba. But Cuba has been decimated after 62 years of Communism.
Next time you pass through Miami, please go to any Cuban restaurant in Miami so you can really get a taste of delicious, authentic Cuban food. You will never get that in Havana or any part of Cuba where the people are starving because there is NO FOOD to eat. And no freedom.

so weird hearing you guys at the beginning talking about how did people travel in the olden days. sounded just like my kids! but then I'm shouting at the screen: wait you need to plan ahead! if we get separated we will meet at X place at Y time; or other plans of what to do if. that is the main difference I see in the younger generation they are all about being spontaneous and don't get the concept of planning ahead! and no, it is not because we had nothing to do so we just wandered around, like Kara said. we just planned ahead for all contingencies.

Honestly the most disappointing video of yours we have watched. We-re fans, find the videos fun, but the little -we can-t trust anyone- is some anti communist garbage propaganda. I should have known when you equated black to dirty in the opening clip, but it-s curious that the one communist country we-ve watched you tour is the one you give a warning about not being able to trust anyone- also Kara you really need to work on that separation anxiety it-s embarrassing and the co-dependency is real

Wow you guys are so positive! Cuba is a poor/communist country so the people are having to steal and scam to be able to have something to eat. Its sad but Cuba is a beautiful place and the people are awesome. You have to be with a trusting local. I hope you guys had a great time. I love following you guys! Im cuban/american living in Miami. Come to Miami!

I have to say. I have had to take a colectivo because my visual was legitimately sold out. It worked out better in the end actually. With the buses they stop at a whole bunch of places and you have to cab to the station. With the collective you get picked up at your Casa and as direct as it can be. It has its percs.

Oh my god this is so funny! I just found my girlfriend watching this and realised MY SISTER AND I are in the backseat of your taxi! What a mental experience! We were BLACK after this but was worth it for the cigar rolling experience: ) Enjoy the rest of your travels!

I am glad you guys enjoy the island I was born in Cuba, 97% of people are welcoming but unfortunately there-s that small % of peoples the like to take advantage of the situation no only for tourists but but for the local too, I am very sorry that happens to u guys

Just a bit of advice. When y'all get your local currency when you get to each adventure, maybe give Kara a little walking around money. I'm binge watching all your videos and this has been an issue a few times. Just sayin'. Keep up the awesome vlogs!
