Almost two thousand years ago (79 AD) powerful eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried in volcanic ash the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, and killed thousands of people. UNESCO listed the ruins of these cities as World Heritage sites: the impressive remains of the towns of Pompei and Herculaneum and their associated villas, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79, provide a complete and vivid picture of society and daily life at a specific moment in the past that is without parallel anywhere in the world. +Amazing Places on Our Planet - Thank you Milosh for another evocative video. The sad but beautiful music sets the tone for the viewing of the place that was destroyed by Mount Vesuvius, which now stands as an empty vessel. The spectacular, still-remaining paintings of the people show the pale-skinned women being sold as slaves and the two colors of the main ethnicities (very pale white and very tan) and of course, the sculptures and paintings of men in spectacular physical condition. At 1: 57 and 2: 07, you captured two men in paintings that suffered from the same, terrible condition Clearly, they were famous and worthy of portraitsOf course, I wish I had been there in person to see this, but watching your video is the next best thing.

The cause of the demise of Herculaneum and Pompeii was, in all likelihood, a collapsing eruptive column, which, in turn, generated massive pyroclastic flows (neuees ardentes, which snuffed out life very rapidly. A slow rain of ash may be escaped: but not a pyroclastic flow. Most volcanoes make for exciting holidays: try Etna (Sicily, Stromboli (Aeolian Islands, the Azores (mid-Atlantic, and the Cumbre Vieja (La Palma Island, Canaries. All fabulous

Besides the superb capture of the various locations in all your productions, I am also impressed with the technical quality, particularly with the smoothness of your pans, which pan tilt head - tripod do you use? I switched from a heavy Sony EX3 to the AX100 about 18 months ago, but I am having problems using the camera on my heavy duty tripod as it seems to lack the heavier weight of my previous camera. Or are you using a Gimbal?

This is one place I would really love to go to before I leave this world Pompeii. My Grandfather a very loving and wonderful man came to the United States when he was a boy of 10 yrs old from Italy. So there are a few other places I also wish to visit there also, look up family I have never met too.

This is the best footage I have ever seen of these two archaeological sites and the music fitted the locations perfectly. I find your technique of slow panning at a low frame rate to be very good, I can do it with a gimbal but not as well by hand.
