I FLEW ON AMERICA'S WORST AIRLINES BACK TO BACK!
video description
My sarcasm aside, I dislike Frontier specifically because they arent cheaper even though hype mongers claim they are. And on top of this, the quality is much worse. Id much rather fly on Delta or Southwest than Frontier. The other two wont make me get off a flight on stairs in a blizzards to say Im saving money. The only people that seem to want to fly the ULCCs are people who dont shop around, people who believe the hype mongers, but above all they dont value their time, comfort or convenience. (And can travel out of a grocery bag)

People do not hate on these airlines for the service but rather the other people that might be on the flight. My experience is that typically lower class individuals fly these airlines for the prices (like myself) and sometimes a good number of people on these flights might think they are better than or of higher class than the other patrons and act as such even though they bought the same ticket as everyone else. I have personally experienced more obnoxious travelers on these airlines than others but do not think there is anything wrong with either Spirit or Frontier, they are just as likely to land on time and in one piece as any other commercial airline.

Other than the thinner seats, the reason Spirit and Frontier get a bad rap is their habit of cancelling flights with no recourse or refunds. You were lucky on these flights. The other issue is that although the prices, as you said, are roughly similar as the better airlines (which also have Basic Economy fares to compete with these airlines, the frequent flier miles earned are obviously more valuable on Alaska, American, Delta, or United.

I recently used Frontier on an Orlando to Vegas route. If you dont care about seat selection then you get really good value.
On top of that I did my own research so knew ahead of time about the no Wi-Fi chargers or pillows. So I did my charging/ downloading entertainment in the airport.
I dont really understand the complaints they get. I paid the bare minimum (80 dollars) and got the bare minimum.

Spantax, a Spanish charter airline, was by far the worst. They had a horrible crash which killed many people some years ago. They are now out of business. My round trip flight on therm was from New York City to Madrid. Horrible and so overloaded, the plane barely got into the air! Screaming children and many non-reclining seats. A horrible 8-hour flight both ways!

It is well documented that you have a free item you can bring. these are like purses, small bags, or in my case, my backpack. The specific dimensions for the free item are well defined. If you can avoid bringing heavier, more bulky items, I would recommend flying either. I personally prefer Spirit, though it's just been my experience.

I would say going on these budget airlines is best for vacations especially shorter ones. Booking spirit or frontier with luggage turns out to be similar to United or American. But if you are going on a quick visit to Vegas on a weekend, why not pay $70 round trip?

That absolute worst airline I ever flown on was TWA way back in the day. The seats were uncomfortable and the flight attendants were tough. They still made you pay $5 to use your own headphones if you didn't pay the same amount for the ones they were offering.

My husband is a loyal flyer to Frontfear airlines. I refuse to fly FF or Spirit. We fly separate airlines to go to the same destinations. By the time he adds all the extra's he could have been on Delta or Southwest. Dam you have to pay for snacks on FF?

aircanada has made flying a nightmare for my child. She is a proud Canadian but just hates the name AC who has ruined everything for her/us twice; while we have had zero issue with other Airlines. AirCanada is an embracement for Canada. AVOID it AT ALL COST!

The announcement lady is awesome! Never seen stuff like that on board: ) Never been to the US either. Although travelled to 21 countries so far, some of them for a few good times. For me the best airline is Emirates right now, Etihad is also quite good.

For me frontier is more costly then delta. Unless I travel with zero bag's. Plus if there is a problem. Delta can reroute me and I still have a chance at getting to my destination on the same day. I don't think spirt even goes to my airport at all.

Come to Canada and try Flair Airlines, which uses the Spirit/Frontier business model. (I think their parent company owns Frontier) My Halifax-Montreal flight last summer was five hours late, but it got me there and back extremely cheaply.

Americans complains with the white bread under the arm. They should come to Africa and experience our worst airlines. The planes are old and almost falling apart. Spirit and frontier airlines is luxury compared to our worst airlines.

American airline is the worst ever. Left me and my family stranded at LAX for a whole day recently. Strung us along by delaying the flight for four hours just to turn around and cancel it. Ill never fly with this company again.

I think it is because the people doesnt expect that their bags cost more than the ticket. And there is a rumor about Frontier front desk employees getting compensation for every carry-on they charged at the gate

At first I thought you were referring to United Airlines but then remembering from my experience with United always being late and not having time to make my connections flights, you cant fly United back to back!

I hated both airlines. Cancelled flights, no reimbursement, uncomfortable seating, cup o noodles worth $12. 00, and bad service. Stuck with the legacy airlines. After my flight got cancelled, I went on Delta.

I have not had any problems with frontier, I fly them regularly. Spirit is awful and I wouldn't risk it for an important flight. Almost every flight I've been on with them has had significant delays.

I'll stick with Southwest even though it isn't what it was once was (none of them are. Still has comfortable seats, two free bags in cargo, carry on bag plus personal item (a very large handbag.
