The Ryanair Experience! FLYING TO SPAIN FOR LUNCH! Bret: At the height of the pandemic and the huge rental car shortage here in the US, we got stuck with a rental car just like that that only sat 4 people and maybe two carry-on sized bags in the trunk. We had 5 people and 5 bags. We flew into Rapid City, SD on the last flight in on that particular day. They had no other car to rent until the next morning. Our hotel was also 2 hours away from the airport. Fortunately, we were meeting up with other friends that had extra space in their rental car so our fifth occupant could use the other seat after we drove the two hours. My sister drew the short straw and got to straddle the cup holder between the two back seats. WORST rental car ever! It sure made for a good story though. We still talk about the Powder Blue Chevy Bolt clown car and the legendary cup holder marks that undoubtedly never left my sister's cheeks

Excellent. I remember about 20 years ago Scandinavian airlines had cheap Saturday day shopping trips to from Scandinavia to London and Paris. 'Shop at Oxford street, have lunch and be back home well in time for dinner or see a musical as well and be home for bedtime'.
I think they even had a luxury option of Business class day trips for those who desired that.

I flew only once with Ryanair and for last time. I once flew with them to Paphos. After 4. 5 hours of flying I had big back pain. So next I'd will fly Lufthansa, Finnair, sas and air Baltic. Because at the end you'll spend same amount of money, when you're traveling to your final destination

Great video Noel and great idea but not exactly accurate. In the car a different T-Shirt and a little less facial hair than the T-Shirt on the plane and less facial hair. However great video, great idea and when I get some spare time from the Charity I work my wife and I will have to give it ago.

Adored this one Noel. I love your sense of adventure! Much more effective than your trip to Longhorn in TX! What a comparison with the flying environment too! The best to the worst but 30 quid! Great trip. Well done Rachael. You should have taken the kids!

sorry did you grow ur beard in a couple of hours? Just saying, in one shot you say today we are going to Spain for lunch, clean shaven in the next you are with your wife in the car with a beard? oh well was 3 years ago, anyway still enjoy your vlogs

Ive been doing what you do for a few months now trying to fly with as many airlines as possible and as many aircraft as possible and i cannot wait for my 18th birthday next month so i can buy a priority pass! Love the vids Noel

This video is why I paid an extra 40 pounds to get the very first seat on the plane with unlimited legroom in 1A as the seats look far more cramped than how I remembered it 10 years ago. I'm a 6'3 guy and that looks terrible

I don't know why people hate Ryanair. I think they expect champagne service on a beer budget. They must be doing something right otherwise they wouldn't have over 400 aircraft and are getting bigger all the time.

Seems odd to show the kids dropped-off with care at school in the morning, only for them to be completely forgotten about throughout the rest of the day with the parents gone til around midnight.
reply

Nice video. Weird how you have no beard when dropping the kids off then have a beard when with your wife in the car. Anyway, it's planted a seed in my mind now about doing that myself one day

I realize that having the emergency procedures affixed to the seatbacks as a sticker saves the usual placard types from going missing, but damn do they look tacky and unsightly.

Love the vast contrast between the amazing cuisine Noel was served on Singapore Airlines and. Ryanairs pizza and fries. Thats partly why his videos are so enjoyable, such variety.

There is someting very very wrong in the world when you can fly nearly a thousand miles round trip, buy lunch and hire a car, for nearly the same price as a decent meal at home.

highly recommend a place called Cala d'Or in majorca, has plenty of little beaches, quiet but not too quiet, family friendly, especially at an Inturotel resort, love it there
reply

What a gift to be situated in Europe where a dozen countries are an hour's flight away. From my home in the US the closest country (Bahamas) is nearly a 4 hour flight!
reply

I've been to majorca on hols so many times and spend my first 2 nights resting as I'm an amputee I never knew I could get assisted help thanks for the tip noel!

If you hadn't been so tightfisted and paid for Ryanair Business Class, your wife would have had to be dragged off the aircraft! Talking about luxury.
reply

What a fun trip. Clown car and all. These are the days you remember later in life and still laugh about. What a picturesque place. Hope you find your donkey.
reply

Thank you for sharing this. It was so funny when you and your wife were joking about.
Spain was so beautiful. Though indeed the water there looked awful.
