I'd love to experience something like this. I'm currently chasing my dream of eventually owning and flying my own plane just need to save up to be able to hit pilot school.
I think it'd be cool to have experience on a small plane even if I'm not the one at the controls, just to see what it feels like. Something like this feels so much more intimate, and you get to witness aspects of the flying experience that are often hidden away on larger planes. Such as how the pilot's communicate and what they see while landing and taking off. That and the bigger windows at either side would make for great sightseeing.

Cape air is based out of barnstable regional airport in Massachusetts, which is south of Boston. They originally flew only in the northeast/ new england connecting the big airports to destinations like Nantucket, and cape cod, hence the name. Then they expanded by buying out other similar operations throughout the country and in the Caribbean. Though they are now in the process of replacing their fleet with Tecnams.

I would definitely do that flight rather than a direct flight - would be fascinating to see rural America close up from 7500 ft. And to fly to a small airport like Quincy. Sights & places you'll probably never see again. You wouldn't get that on a 737 - just flying through or above clouds! That flight of yours is so much more of a memorable experience

Thanks so much for that. It so reminded me of my flight in 2006 from an airport near the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas. We had to get weighed first then given a seat number. Amazing flight over which gave us the day to meander along the strip before 5pm meet at The Stratosphere of those that had taken the coach over. We got the best deal I think.

Smallest Airplane for a commercial flight was on a 4 seater Cessna 182S. 4 seater, including the pilot. From Belize CIty Municipal Airport (TZE) to San Pedro Ambergis Caye SPR. As for a 402, I flew on one from Cozumel to Cancun. Got to sit in the right seat for the flight (the one with controls) since it was a very full flight.

MY smallest one? It depends what I want to consider airliner. I flew on DH Turbo Otter and Cessna Grand Caravans. There are small planes in East Frysland in NW gemany, on scheduled Island services, but I would not call them airliner. My view: The smaller the plane, the more enjoyable the flight.

I've flown on a little plane like that plenty of times. I live in Korea, but I'm originally from a smallish city in central Illinois. When I go home to visit, I would fly to Chicago and then have to take a regional airline the rest of the way. It was always a Cessna, but sometimes a different model.

definitely will fly that route if I get the chance.
the smallest machine I ever flew on as an airline flight was a modified twin-Bonanza which is probably just marginally smaller with 8 seats.
fascinating, these types are, you really feel the flying.

Id fly on it for the experience while the smaller the cramped i do think compact planes are interesting, the smallest aircraft Ive been on the old CRJ 200s, which a lot complain about but Im used to given Ive had to fly regional a ton growing up so I could do the flight if I had to.

So I know I'm a little late on watching this video, but cruising at 4. 5 and 7. 5. VFR Flight plan with an instrument approach? Or VFR nose up to nose down? I've never flown essential air service, bu I definitely need to make some space in my calendar for CapeAir!

It would be noisy and slow, but it would be neat to watch the pilots. I've semi-flown a Piper Cherokee and it was pretty neat (my dad's friend owned it and I was like 12 so I sat right seat and kept it level and did a shallow bank)

My dad worked with the airline for many years, and would take me many summers with him to work. I rode many times those 402s throughout Puerto Rico. I will always remember the smell of the seats and the sound of those engines.

Given the choice, I wouldn't fly at all, I hate it. but you take your life in your hands with all those other Mickey mouse airlines and pilots you travel with Noel. and I certainly wouldn't on a crop sprayer like that.

Cape Air is fantastic. I flew them once and I would love to fly them again in the future. If you need to get into a smaller town it's way better than flying into a large airport and driving. Could not recommend enough.

I definitely would not mind the Cessna 402, even though the 737 would be much quicker (and nicer.
But imagine spending thousands of bucks and hours to get your ATP, then you start your career off flying a Cessna!

Haven't flown on the 402 but flew on the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, also a nine-seater. The route was KLNS-KPIT on Southern Airways Express. PS: I rather enjoy how you're committing to the Quincy, M. E. bit lol

Flown on small airliners many times; some of the best flights I've taken. Cessna 402, Twin Otters, Pilatus PC-12, and many more. Very safe, and they fly lower so you can se a lot more if the weather is good.

I hope to fly on Capeair Cessna 402's before they all gone Plus I'm from The Caribbean Island Barbados so I hope to do Caribbean Flights with them from Puerto Rico to St. Croix in The US Virgin Islands.

Admitedly the smallest airplain i flown on was an 737-300, by apreety small greek company called bluebird airways
Not as small as other plains but duo to a lot of different reassons i don't fly toouch
