Panic In the Air, we used to call it.
But my fondest flying memory is actually from PIA flying domestic between Lahore and Karachi:
I was in the school swim team and we were on our way down to Karachi for a SAISA swim meet.
The team would train from 6 to 7: 30 before school, and we'd done the same that morning.
We were famished. We got on the plane and were heading down, when the cabin crew came around and offered us each a small lunchtime snack.
Only, it was Ramadan and some of our squad, as well as all of the rest of the passengers on the plane, were fasting as the sun was up.
We had our snack, then asked for seconds, then thirds (it was some kind of curried and fried potato patty thing)
The crew asked the lot of us who weren't Muslim and fasting to move to the back of the plane (a 747) and completely emptied the cart onto one of the tray tables. It was a glorious mound of at least 30 of those tin foil containers with foil-coated paper lids.
Most of the people fasting wouldn't even drink water, so they also left us a few bottles of Pepsi, 7up and Mirinda and some juice boxes.
That was the highlight of the swim meet for us.
As a team, the rough-tough LAS Buffaloes kinda sucked.

i know i'm almost two years late to this video but wiping something wet or even just damp on that type of mask completely negates their effectiveness. those type of masks rely on static between the layers as most of their effectiveness and by even just dampening them, that kills the static property. that is why they are disposable as compared to a cloth filter mask because even just the moisture of your breath gives them just a few hours of effectiveness. anything was better than nothing but you're close to the nothing when you got these types of masks damp.

My first flight with PIA from London to Karachi kn a 747 I think it was, it was not bad, I had to sit in the middle row: ( just the passengers were annoying they kept on passing through our row every minute, had to move my legs everytime for them. Then I had to take a domestic flight to my home city in Peshawar and that was disgusting flies everywhere seats were dirty I couldn't wait an hour for us to arrive. I wanted it to finish quick.

Odd. You didn't say much about the used mask or all the grime in the chair track and at the end of the video you expressed your opinion in favor of the airline but on Air India you were repulsed by the grime on the button and mildly hysterical over the hair caught in the window. Of course that video was more than 18 months later than this one.

I would like to actually make a correction here. There was NO PILOT flying without a license, there were small little documentation issues with few pilots! The issue was highlighted wrongly and perceived worst. I believe, one must dig down deep before making a statement (I am sorry, must have sounded bit harsh. Thank you!

Air India should also be on a no fly list. And no, even after TATA take over nothing has changed. They still follow the Babu culture. They ask you for your marital status, number of kids, religion a d several other personal details that only the govt is too nosey to know. Avoid air india also at all costs.

From being the pride of Pakistan in the 60s & 70s PIA is now a national embarrassment. My family has had strong links to the airline in the past (my uncle flew for them in the 70s and another uncle was the regional director stationed in Dubai in the early 70s) and we know that it is a shadow of itself

PIA will get you where you need to but little pricey due to over staffed Airlines. Multiple people are doing one persons job. Airline had done really well, if it would have trimmed down its work force but due to politics it cannot and thats why suffering loses year after year.

I worked for a very well known Irish budjet airline in around 2005/6, there were certain piolts who were known for smoking cigarettes in the flight deck during the actual flight. Don't be surprised if you can ever smell ciggy smoke on a aircraft.

You are a brave man to fly this airline. in 2020 they grounded 193 of their pilots for having ambiguous credentials! And, that was a follow on to a 2012 discovery of six pilots and over five hundred other staff with the same issue.

We've been on the business/first class to Lahore in 2011 I havent been back since I hardly been abroad as I haven't had the chance. There was plenty of leg room and spacious but only one bathroom /toilet was working.

I flew first class with PIA. Got to go up to the flight deck to chat with the cigarette smoking pilot who had his feet up on the dashboard. Good job I was drunk really. It's byob by the way.

This is the Airline which established the Emirates and train their crew. So Sad that as a Pakistani, now I'm also not going on this plane just because of the corruption in the institute.

That's not okay. They are actually banned in the EU and the US because their pilots are unqualified, they get their pilot licenses through corruption. You are risking your life.

PIA trade union has destroyed the airline. PIA was once a good airline. Being a Pakistani I avoid to travel by this airline. Even on domestic routes I prefer other airlines.
