Aer Lingus are a super airline and Ive flown with them many times. I could not however justify a business class flight eastbound across the Atlantc unless I got it discounted. You can get an economy one for less than 200. My last flight Washington to Dublin took less than 5 hours - barely long enough to have a bite to eat and a short snooze. I'd definitiely consider business class LA or SFO to Dublin especially looking at the luxury level you experienced. I love the green livery of the plane you took - very striking but unfortuneately they are changing livery to a very boring white on all their aircraft currently. Pity!

I have you beat on this one Noel. I once traveled on an award ticket from Johannesburg to Hong Kong on a 747-400 in first class on Cathay Pacific. When the door closed, I was told I would be the only customer in the cabin. So, for a 12 hour flight, I had a staff of 3. They kept the F lav locked just for me, set up a separate suite for a bed and went over the top to keep me fed, watered and entertained. And I put very few demands on them. I regret not eating more.

And for serial stowaway, she cannot sneak on the plane again. 3 years ago, she sneak on British Airways plane without a ticket. Shes breach security. The flight crew realized she didnt have a ticket. She flew OHare to London. Thats why I am very mad with her. She was not supposed to be there. She repeatedly, repeatedly not to go to airports anymore. She doesnt listen to the judge or me.

My dad upgraded to business class on air Lingus in an auction once. First time he has flown with them and first time ever to fly business class. He flew from Orlando to Dublin. He has sworn never to fly economy every again, and always with air Lingus as he was so impressed. He's a frequent flyer so that says it all. He said they were better than BA, virgin and all the us airlines.

I watched your Air Canada review followed by this - you were pretty ambivalent about Air Canada and raved about Aer Lingus and yet I could see little to differentiate between the two, other than the latter was virtually empty. On the basis of this video I'd say the Aer Lingus business class product was very average - and well over double the price of Toronto-Dublin!

Pleased that your flight was so good. 2 weeks ago flight from Dublin to JFK and return from JFK to Shannon. Economy, one word shocking, cabin crew unhelpful verging on rude, partucularly the male cabin crew. It really illustrates to me the difference if you can afford business

Totally agree about the departure gate. Flew Aer Lingus to Dublin from ORD in 2018 and the gate area wasn't big enough for all the passengers. We had to overspill into the next seated area and then got moaned at by the staff for crossing the tape.

Having flown through Chicago many times have always found it to be the most Boring airport for its size, very few shops and restaurants and as Noel rightly states, dark and claustrophobic gates; and in the summertime an absolute zoo, so crowded

Aer Lingus has been on my list for sure. They seem very under-rated and well priced for business class. Certainly a flight in an empty cabin is always extra special, but I definitely wanted to fly them more after watching your review Noel.

I flew Aer Lingus a few times JFK -> NCL via Dublin in economy. Those were the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in. I chose AL because of US customs in Dublin which saves sooo much time when arriving. Just pickup your bag and go.

Do Business class flights with AER LIGUS get too choose from the Menu? Are there shower facillities at Manchester, UK and JFK? Whats the minimum time you should show up for your flights? Alcohol free drinks are they avaliable on board.

I live in Germany and will only fly Aer Lingus when visiting my folks in the US. The excellent service is a nice plus but pre-clearing customs and just walking out of the airport after a seven hour flight is by far the best benefit.

Aer Fungus? Tut tut, ha ha ha. OK the gloves are off, from now on British Airways shall be referred to as British Arse-ways! ha ha ha. At least you have acknowledged that the flight and service didn't warrant the name. LOl

I did the reverse of that flying from Frankfurt to JFK on March 15, 2020 on Delta. I was the ONLY person in business class and there were only 75 people on the flight in general. It was eerie.

I was flew Dublin to Seattle with Aer Lingus and back in economy in the summer of 2018 and what really surprised me was that the return flight was nowhere near full. Several rows empty

I am flying Dublin to Chicago in September. Wish it could be business class but I can only dream of that. Always fly with Aer Lingus, I think they are a great airline.

I work at O'Hare for AA. Just an FYI, they are going to be tearing down T2 and replacing it with a brand new international terminal in the next few years.
