Emergency Landing and SHOCKING Service: Boutique Air

Emergency Landing and SHOCKING Service: Boutique Air david: Boutique just pulled out of the city of Show Low, Arizona. The Town Council of Show Low canceled Boutiques contract because thirty percent of their flights were delayed or canceled at the last moment, leaving families in despair on many weekends. Boutiques contract was canceled right before the 4th of July. Their contract officially ended June 30, 2022. Boutique contracted my wife at the last minute and refunded her July 4th portion of the trip (return. However, Boutique wont refund the departure of June 30. So my wife could fly up to Show Low but have no way to get home. I contacted Boutique and they assured me they would refund the entire trip. They never did refund the return portion of the flight, even though the flight and their contract was canceled. So as an airplane theyre dishonest. We always had to laugh as the pilots are just out of high school. Nothing wrong with the pilots trying to build their careers, unfortunately theyve chosen the wrong airline. Every employee is worked to death and expected to literally do every task. Not a good way to scale a business. Boutique also has a pretty scary safety record.

As a pilot myself, I feel for the crew, the gate agents and the maintenance guys too. Management is obviously deficient at Boutique Air.
A quick refund or a quick rebooking goes a long way.
The golden rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated!
Where was Management during the flight return? During the cancellation? During the reschedule? Where were they in proactively taking care of their rate resource-THE OAUIBG PASSENGER?
This airline will end up in the scrap book of gone airlines-not because of the companies workers (pilots, gate agents and maintenance people) but because of sub-par management. Sad thing is, these management types get hired elsewhere because of their experience!

Welcome to the world of domestic U. S. air travel, where airlines compete with each other to offer the rudest, shttiest service imaginable while picking customers' pockets empty. Better to drive where you want to go anywhere in the Continental U. S. if at all practical.
As for Boutique Air: the Big Four U. S. airlines are impossible enough to get compensation from (no one other than the naive or delusional expects quality service. The small-fry fly-by-nights like this airline? Feggedaboutit. Odds are that they'll be bankrupt and out of business within a month of launching. Like I said above, rent a car and drive to your destination. You might pay more, but at least you'll get there.

I've more often than not had a very bad experience trying dealing with a company's customer service via online chat -- overly flowery verbiage (TOO nice to the point of being condescending, not listening, failing to answer relevant questions/creative misunderstandings, all-too-convenient disconnects, forced/surprise/unwanted transfers, and generally giving me the bum's rush. (Recent culprits: Wargaming (publisher of _World of Tanks_ ) and Verizon; but almost nothing but a positive experience with GEICO) It's just as if they don't want your business.
Nice video, Noel, thanks for the warning. I'll give Boutique Air a wide berth.

I had this happen with a major US carrier about 4 years ago. It was a flight from CA to NYC. Pretty much the same situation. The flight was delayed for 3 hours, then 8 hours, then 10. So, it came down to verbiagethe airline said the flight was delayed until the next morning. In my book, thats a cancellation and a rescheduled flight. Its a lousy way for an airline to get around having to give all the passengers a refund. The magic word being cancelled rather than delayed. No money toward a hotel room either, nor any allowance for meals. Good customer service has gone the way of the typewriter

I'm really sorry it went this way. Normally a lot of people when they vlog about airlines and have problems are nitpicking and honestly should just take what they can get. Normally just a delay. but even if the gate agent in this case made a mistake, it seems like Boutique really did wrong by you and their other customers. and you can only get away with that once.
Normally I always applaud your ability to be civil and find that silver lining, but honestly I would have handled it 19x worse than you.

The flight was cancelled because of their (boutique airs) maintenance issues. They should not only have refunded you for the flight but offered to help cover your other losses, car hire hotel etc or at least refund you and give you a free future flight as well. In this case it wasn't weather or some other issue out of their control. Thanks for letting us know how terrible their service is I will be sure to never use them.

If I were you, I'd be inclined to write them a nice little letter inviting them to refund, detailing what you expect from them. I'd add that if they didn't have the heart to do this, then I'd be seeking a judgement against them.
I'm sure that if presented with what you presented here, a judge would take a very dim view of them.

Glad to have seen this, I'll remember to stay clear of them should I come across a flight. What you are doing here is a good for the industry to keep them up to standards. To market yourselves as private flights at lower cost and then give this level of service will kill your business model. Private flying is all about the service.

Boutique Air will continue to operate as long as they continue to sell tickets, If people stop buying their tickets after seeing videos like this it will force BA to at the very least get better & actually care for the one thing that is employing them, the customer! I would contact the bank and charge back.

Boutique Air is one of the only airlines that flies from my local small time airport (county sized) over to Pittsburgh. but considering it's a 20 minute drive to the airport and a 40 minute flight into Pittsburgh and costs 99 bucks, I can safely say it's not worth it.
12: 45 Nice slip in of the bird lol

I will be as polite as I can be here. Im about to have all my business done in my pants just WATCHING this video. Im SO glad everything went okay but OMG THIS IS INSANE! Awesome video but OMG Id be praying to every God from every religion I could think at the moment the plane would land. OMG! HAHH!

Boutique used to fly to my local airport. Staff was always nice and helpful, and pilots were great. They had horrible maintenance issues that caused constant delays and cancellations. Lost all of their customers here because of that. No longer service my airport.
reply

It seems Boutique Air is copying Turkshit Airlines as you never hear from them. I only managed to get my $1250 return ticket back through my insurance. You could have done the same and claim it from your insurance always if you had one.
reply

The funny part is I wouldnt be surprised if people interested in the airline who changed their mind after this video has lost the airline way more money than just giving you your money back. Good customer service always pays off.
reply

Lol they use private in their marketing, but never private jet, because it's a silly turboprop plane that's 1/2 as fast as a 737. They sell you with the cheap looking 'luxury' seats arranged in a private jet configuration.

I worked on PC12 aircraft for the USAF and I know there is a Flap Interupt Switch, so maybe your pilots wanted to stay in Atlanta for another day and flipped the switch so they could return to base. Very shady operation.
reply

If you got told its cancelled then its obviously cancelled so you want your money back, which you paid for the flight, it really isn't rocket science, very poor company by the sounds of it
reply

They should give you your money back, you have it on video that they cancelled the flight! Atlanta airport is not a good one, I have been there and would not ever want to go there again!
reply

Boutique, where the service lives up to the name. That's horrendous service, I'm sorry that happened to you and Rach. I'm happy you landed safely and well see you on the next one Noel!
