Other than flights, have Oberoi handle everything. They will book private car (Audi, MB) drivers most airports and the fantastic all-day van drivers as well as the best guides. Of course, 5+luxury accommodation and service at their hotels all for a fraction of what people pay in western countries for mid-range accommodation, confused, dangerous Uber drivers and indifferent service. I avoid trains and buses entirely in India. Air India is typically acceptable but not much better than discount carriers. The van drivers can take you very comfortably and safely long distances with stops as you like.

Thanks for this really interesting & unusual travel video! By the way: 14: 25 I once had a very bad experience with buying bottled water off the street in India. Some of those vendors use filtered tap- (or well-) water which looks like drinking water, but isn't. They fill it into labeled bottles and seal it again. And sell it for big profit margin. I drank such bottle and had the worst stomache sickness of my life for almost a month. Ruined my whole India trip. Since then, I only trust legit shops / supermarkets / hotels for buying bottled water. Never again from a street vendor.

If you don't like the situation in India, please don't visit India. As a matter of fact, Modis India is becoming a cesspool of minority intolerance and violence towards Muslims. India, except Kerala, is one of the dirtiest and unforthcoming nations in the world. If you are dissatisfied and sickened on visiting India, please stay away. We don't want Whites coming and destroying our ancient culture and civilization. Get me.

I had some trouble in Yangon, and was warned ahead of time to not take your hand off your suitcase near the taxi-stand because the drivers will abscond with your suitcase and assume you will follow after them to the tenement hotel that pays them. That said, it might be interesting if you would attempt safe low-cost hotels in a city like this!

We dont do a 24 hours bus journey. Its uncomfortable and takes a lot of time. Although the busses are AC but most of these services fold upbdue to low patronage.
People generally travel such distances by road in their own cars. Its faster and safer. By your own car you would have reached between 3 to 5 am the next day instead of 3 to 4 pm!

I took a bus that was very similar from phnom penh to saigon, you got a lot less space but as a 65 fat guy it was fine and 10x better then a seat. If you want to take it its via kumho sanco, it cost $35 so not too bad lol. Your point about beds not heing great on roads but on the highway its normally fine

For overnight trips i always prefer a sleeper train. It is the best and one can sleep peacefully. Not possible in a sleeper bus. So if I have to travel overnight by bus, which I try my best to avoid, I will take one with reclining seats and not a sleeper. It will be much better.

As far as ground transportation is concerned I would never ever ever ever take a bus ride anywhere in the world much less in India, and more specifically in a sleeper bus, as long as I dont have a train at my disposal. But for Noel its just another exotic vlog as an English man.

Its not until you visit other countries that you realize how organized and well designed roads/rules of the road are in the US. It amazes me that they can even operate with that many people when they drive around like that. There is literally no rules on the road. Its chaos.

Friggin hell, I'd prefer to stay in a nice dependable hotel too regardless of how I was travelling, esp in a place like India, you don't want to take any chances where it's got to do with food and hygiene. Don't think I'd be game enough to go to these places full stop.

I have been in some iffy situations in southeast asia, but just before the Zingbus boarding I felt like Noel wandering around with his baggage was in a kind of a dicey situation. But I guess it was fine if he tips everyone a buck who bothers him.

This is a remarkable service! I have been on an old-fashioned longitudinal sleeper train like this in Thailand but I never have seen it done with a bus! I suppose Noel remarks it is not easy to sleep this way on a road bus.

english fella here. i loved my indian bus experiences just make sure not to book a sleeper class at the back of the bus. youll be spinning around all night. never eat too much as theres no toilets. whats there not to love about it?

This looks very claustrophobic. Ive never been to India, but someone had said that some Indian people have very strong body scent. Did you ever come across this on this bus journey or through out your trip in India?

As a Canadian who lives in Northern Ontario can't imagine what 45C feels like. We retreat at 30! Thanks for sharing. not as bad as I thought but don't think this one is for me. So much air pollution and grit.

Awesome trip mate. I did the Mumbai to Goa bus a few years ago which is only around 12-14hrs, was fun just to see all the scenery and watch life go by. Sure there is some risk. But the experience is priceless

That huge tip for autorickshaw ride is pretty insane. Us Indians normally tip if at all 50 rupees at Max for rickshaw rides. Giving him 500 instead of 150 is insane. Lol. But it probably made his day.

Its the first time I've seen beds on buses I didn't realise there would be beds like this I had thought it was recliner chairs which you could make into beds but then you need leg room.
