Hello Mike im what you might call a long time fan, but very new to actually posting comments. ive been on the net since 98, been watching youtube since its creation pretty much. but only just registered on youtube/facebook in the last week. as you might have guessed, im a seasoned wild camper since 1983, when we were just about sending telex/faxes. oh how the times have changed, for the better i have to say. it makes me proud that the likes of you joe robinet, and every other wild camp/prepper/survivalist, (to many to mention) is flying the flag for the whole outdoor thing, to give it a name. But enough praise, ive only just clocked your address, i'd assumed your vids were made somewhere in the surrey/hants border area. being a surrey lad myself, Caterham to be precise. im well aware we are blessed in that area. we dont have a national park, but we have a heck of a lot of woodland. but enough about me, i'm gonna send you something in the post, you might or might not wanna use/revue it in one of your vids. its entirely possible i'm late to the party on this one, and its already been discovered and dismissed. im gonna call it a GRAB HOOK, G. H for short, which happens to be my initials, ive only just noticed its my initials as i type. i beleive its one of the most inadverant bits of useful kit ive ever seen. its not gonna revolutionise camping in the slightest to be fair. but it is completely free, well kind of free. and it is plastic, i know your very much a make it from wood kinda guy. so if you dont want it, please recycle in a responsible manner. im all for wood too, but like i say, its free, sort of, i found mine kicking around the floor in asda, thats walmart to all you americans. by now im hoping your reading this, and saying. OK, you now have my full attention. think of a double hook, small meat hoot, double karabina, (excuse spelling) and you're part way there, the difference being it can grab aswell as hook. The best example i can throw at you is hanging a towel from a tree whilst you had a wash. like i say, i could be late on this one, i found/discovered it myself a few weeks back. on saturday it helped me hook my beer picnic/backpack to a goal post while i watched the fireworks. kept it off the muddy ground, and reduced the chances of some focker walking off with it while my head was in the sky. think ive built it up enough. i will send this afternoon, first time sender of kit/presents aswell today. Gary. P S, love to your dad, ask him what a telex is?

Congratulations on the wedding Enjoy your honeymoon, you deserve it, I hope you'll both have an absolutely fabulous time - and your wife-to-be is one very lucky lady, you are one in a million. Your videos are amongst the best I've ever come across online, please don't let married life stop you from making them - I can fully appreciate the hours of work that go into making just a few minutes of high-quality video. OK, you asked for suggestions. I live in Scotland, where it rains quite a lot. My sons have both been through Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, and loved every minute of it - many very wet camps included. How about a back woods camp - minimal equipment, the forest is soaked with rain, you have to make some sort of shelter with not much time, and using just what you can find. And more importantly, can you get a fire going in soaking wet conditions? No time to spend on elaborate shelters, it's a one-nighter and you need to cook? Please don't take offence at this - I absolutely loved your series where you built your long-term fort, and my God would I love to do the same, if I had the time. Yours was a palace: -)But you always make fire-lighting look so easy - which I know it's not Can you do it under extreme conditions, with no dry fuel or tinder obviously available? Can you teach us the secret ways to find dry fuel in a hostile environment? .

Okidokie. at the time of me watching this video I was wondering why in the world would you have 5 thumbs down thus far. I figured at first it was 5 Cat Lovers. then I realized quickly it was the Fried eggs you went after and it turned in scrambled. then It was finally confirmed that you just recently got married and the 5 thumbs down were the 5 ex-girlfriends. lololol. but seriously this was an excellent and entertain video as usual. and really relaxing and Totally Awesome

It is good to see just a tarp can be good cover. and I was impressed at how the blowpipe increased the fire amazingly. lol nearly took my eyebrows off there. brilliant. looking back and belated congrats on the betrothal. did you have time to go fishing in Mauritius. thanjs for another earthy video. somehow confidence is gained just by watching you teach and learn too. thank you.

Hi mike. Congratulations on the marriage: ) Id like to see some collaboration stuff with other Youtube bushcrafters. I really enjoy the alone in the wild style, no talking stuff, and fishing is always nice to see, maybe hobo style fishing and more survivalist stuff. I notice the sunday shed stopped too? Keep up the great work

The pocket bellows is no gimmick - I've spent way too much time blowing into fires without one. The instant I saw yours on a previous video it hit me as a genius idea like a sack of bricks dropped from the moon, and I found one on amazon immediately. Mine's not as nice as yours but it does the job. Thanks for featuring it.

Enjoyed the video, mate, but your cooking technique was killing me Always heat the oil in the pan first before dropping in the food. It keeps the cold oil from soaking into the food - hot oil sears the outside layer of the food, preventing the oil from soaking into it like a sponge.

Awesome video, big congrats on the wedding and that's a very nice Z28 I like all the videos you do. I've learned quite a bit. Enjoyed the camp build series the most. Watching it evolve from episode to episode. The videos with your dad are always enjoyable as well as the ones with Jax.

Your videos are getting better and better. There's quite a balance between action, talking, and landscape footage. Unlike some other Bushcraft guys who show too much of their face on camera and don't miss a second to show how handsome they look with their green eyes and tatoos
