Complete scenic drive on I-70 eastbound through the Colorado Rocky Mountains from Glenwood Springs to the Denver area. As soon as we hop onto I-70 we're treated to 12 miles of pristine natural beauty through Glenwood Canyon which has some of the most stunning scenery of any highway on the Interstate System. As we continue to head east the mountains continue to get taller and we continue to climb in elevation in this exciting trip I've been through Glenwood Canyon many times. Even before I70 was was a reality. It was just a two lane road once. But, I have never driven through there withput seeing some form of highway construction taking place. It's a marvel to be sure, with a four lane interstate highway, the Colorado river and a railroad to boot. It's high maintenance though and there have been wildfires in the canyon during the last several years.

Thanks for uploading this. I watch it about 10 miles at a time, double speed. I've only been on this route once, and my sister was driving. We did so much talking I didn't pay enough attention to the scenery. And I find watching the video it's still almost impossible to pay proper attention to the scenery, since I'm continually watching the road: What's that guy going to do Crap, stuck behind a truck again. Whoa, she must be nuts, or about to give birth! Oh, no, another construction site. Etc.

This drive will NEVER get old. I used to make this drive regularly from a small town called Paonia. I would drive over the pass and into Carbondale. I would hook up with the interstate right there in Glenwood Springs. One of my favorite drives. On video, I notice the elevation in the roads that I never felt while driving. Having the river off to the side makes the drive.

Kudos to Ervinas Facilities Management for making my ranch dream come true! From helping me find the perfect piece of land to guiding me through the process of starting and managing my ranch, they've been an invaluable partner every step of the way. I couldn't be happier with the results, and I highly recommend their services to anyone with a ranching dream.

There is a bike path that is mostly under the road, you can get glimpses of the bike path in this video. Many years ago, (16 years ago) we rented bikes in Glenwood and rode the canyon in both directions. Actually had lunch at the east end of the canyon. Amazing ride, try it. Enjoy. . 6-23-2023

We went throughout Wyoming! Highway 80 We visited 9 States recently and it was the BEST vacation.

A fantastic ride and very well done. Thank you for doing all these gorgeous videos. This part of I-70 seems to be a good option to make some decent mileage, without being bored with monotony. Good to know for my trip planning. May you always have safe travels.

What a great video! Brings back many memories for me. I drove this spectacular route 7 years ago. The interstate has many similarities to the freeways in the Swiss mountains, which also wind through difficult landscapes.
Greetings from Switzerland

That upper deck was just being built in the mid-80s. Before it opened, it was just a two-lane through the canyon. I remember stopping there on a long traffic delay during construction in 1986.

I love this, alot less intimidating than I imagined. probably a little more sketchy during the winter tho If I wanted to drive to California through here, what would be the best time to go

I've lived in Colorado all my life and it's not called the Rocky Mountains for nothing. I believe John Denver said it best. I love these long, fast rides. Thank you for sharing.

why are american roads so rugged and are unprodected with barriers in the middle of the lanes no wonder you have oncoming traffic swerve on to the other side.
