A complete scenic drive from Las Vegas, Nevada to Los Angeles, California in 4K. We begin on I-15 at the Las Vegas Strip and continue south into California, heading through the Mojave Desert until we meet up with California Highway 210 Foothill Freeway near Rancho Cucamonga and make our way to from there to Los Angeles and California Highway 110 Arroyo Seco Parkway, and our trip ends on U. S. Route 101 Hollywood Freeway. The drive starts out at normal speed, then the speed increases to 2. 5x through the desert until we arrive in the Los Angeles area. You can adjust the speed so the video plays faster or slower in the video settings on most devices

Uh, oh; when you dropped down from the valleys of the Cajon into LA Basin proper, you cruised the HOV Toll Lanes for quite a while. Did you have your transponder ready, were you carrying enough passengers(Just teasing) Once you're in those lanes you can not leave them until the lane stripe turns into a normal dash. Conversely, if you're an irresponsible solo driver, you can not dodge into those to beat heavy traffic to your right. Either way, you're sure to be Cited.
It was a treat for you to take us along Townsend and Avenue 53. Those neighborhoods looked like they could have been used for the Russell Crowe/Guy Pearce/Kim Basinger movie, "L. A. Confidential", set in old postwar Los Angeles. Lots and lots of nostalgic flavor for us!
You'd previously cruised a goodly portion of the Angeles Crest Highway. Is there any chance that you might eventually do it entire, including from Cloudburst Pass-to-Islip Saddle, past Wrightwood into the valleys of the Cajon It's been chronically closed between Islip to Wrightwood, and some of us would love to see just how spectacular that stretch is.

I’ve made this trip hundred’s of times from Simi Valley to Vegas and back. I always stopped at Starbucks on Lenwood Rd exit. Also stopping at the Barstow Station when my kid was with me. I always to the 18 which is Palmdale Rd, kinda the back way into Simi Valley and a Lot less traffic. What amazes me about your Video was it seems people don’t know the rules of the Road, Left Lane is the Fast Lane or Passing Lane and the far Right Lane is for slower traffic and cruising. When someone comes up on you in the Right lane you are supposed to get over, it didn’t look like many did. People need to be taught basic traffic rules. Same with Emergency Vehicles! We were taught you pull over no matter what side of the road you are on when there’s no divider, today you lucky if they pull over on the same side as the Emergency Vehicle. Anyway good video

We had driven this road several times already and the beautiful high and big mountains were amazing. We didn’t appreciate those mountains before when we used to live in Barstow but last time we went to Vegas, we took this road and amazed how beautiful the mountains were along the way. Maybe kind of edit the video even though it’s here on YT already and insert the places. I saw the Elephant Mountain as you were approaching Yermo. That one was prominent.

Excellent video! My wife and I made this same exact trip about a month ago both ways(from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and also from Los Angeles back to Las Vegas. It was absolutely amazing. Coming from the East Coast, I was mesmerized with the desert and the mountains, so it was everything I could’ve asked for and then some!

Now imagine that traffic jam with electric cars and every 4th or 5th car runs out of juice. Can't carry a can of electricity to them. You're stuck with dead cars all over the free during rush hour. We are in for a fun future, and if you expect people to be sensible about charging their cars every night, yea. right.

I live in Las Vegas for almosy 40 years, don't remember how many times I took that drive to LA. I did notice a few new things though, like the diomand lane was not there when I lived there andin most states if you are not passing ypou should not stay in the left high speed lane all the time.

Chody Crawford and his friends used to live in Malibu in California. But after Chody and Kelsey Urich got married, they all moved to Henderson in Nevada. Chody's parents sold their house and moved to Arkansas without him. Kelsey is looking after her husband now.

Wow! Every time you run your vids at 2. 5X speed, we turn into Detective Sonny Crockett of "Miami Vice", driving that Ferrari Testarossa! And if you run it at 7X, we then turn into Admiral Harmon Rabb, Jr. of "J. A. G. ", flying his Navy Hornet down on deck!

Thanks much for the memories. Been on this route dozens of times from the 70s to the early 90s. Grew up a couple miles south of where you crossed Irwindale Ave. while on the 210. Still miss the area (though I know things have changed and it's hella expensive.

I never eat at McDs ever ever ever because I want to live a long ass life. (I ate there when I was younger and I totally regret that I did) I figure I've sacrificed 4 or 5 healthy years of life eating at McDs and places like that.

Wow great vid. I live in Vegas & do this drive often & quite enjoy it. I definitely wouldn't drive into the setting sun though. It reminds me of the line from 'Runnin' On Empty' 'running into the sun, but i'm running behind'

my flight to lax (los ang intl’) was redirected to las vegas intl’ airport, so instead of waiting another day in a hotel for a new flight, i decided to rent a car and drive there instead, and honestly, i don’t regret it.

Peaceful, okay. ScenIc We kids used to hide our view from the endless desert scrub and cracked concrete whlie th parents played Merle Haggard on the 8Track and we had to eat at yet another Sambo's restuarant.

Did this drive before, great experience, I suggest you start 4: 30 in the morning it's a 4hr drive, I left early to ride thru some of the hoods of LA before the people got up. Then I went to the nice areas.

I made this drive twice last summer, 11 days apart (well, four times, because I returned to Las Vegas. In fact, the first time I did it was only a few days after this video was posted.

The cringe I get seeing drivers overtake people from the right side. Is this a normal thing in America
Also, what kind of abomination of road design is that o. o" 1: 46: 11

Try it in a Conestoga wagon next time and see how the pioneers had to do it, it shouldn’t take more than about 3 months, 20 miles a day in the slow lane. Fame awaits.

Ive done this drive from Los Angeles to Vegas with a friend. It's such a peaceful drive with great scenery. Colorado to Utah is also another great one!

Sorry lived in Las Vegas three long years. Just a mean desolate moon scape between the two places.
reply

At around the 20 minute on the right hand side there are two bright lights. Are they interplexing beacons.

I highly recommend doing it after a holiday weekend. You'll really get to examine the scenery.

Main problem with drivers camped in the left lane, use the 2 other lanes to drive in. Lemmings.
reply

Great video. But the amount of left-lane camping in this had me literally shouting at the screen!
