Dixie joins the others in the Half Gallon Challenge as they reach the halfway point. Jack: Rattlesnakes are a trip sometimes. I think most people expect them to be aggressive but most I've seen are pretty chill if you give them space. Out west growing up I was hiking in Utah and was bored so I went to grab a stick on the trail just to play with it or toss it off the side. Then it moved as i got around 5 or 6 feet from it and I realized it was a decent sized Great Basin Rattlesnake. Fond memory but it wasn't too fond at the time because it was the first one I'd ever seen and the What if it hadn't moved till i was on top of it was going through my head. Luckily they aren't really that aggressive and just want to be left alone so once it noticed me and I backed off it slithered off in a hurry. Glad y'all were paying attention.

So, I thought all thru hikers loved nothing more than a tub of ice cream? Think of the calories! Here in the Pacific North Wet we tend to walk around mud puddles on trails, couldn't do that there for sure! Very wet indeed. What's your rain gear again?

I think your chocolate milk craving was due to nutrient deficiency. chocolate for magnesium and milk for protein. two essential nutrients when burning high quantities of calories and burning lots of energy.

Wait, wasn't the half gallon challenge in the previous video? I remember commenting that they should change it to half way challenge because of ice cream makers no longer producing half gallons.

Hey Dixie, can you do a video about how to deal with heat during a thru hike? With cold we can just bundle up more, but how do you stay cool in the summer?

Real cute and the baby was cute too. Dixie you nee to get you a couple young'uns. The half way point had changed what was the distance between the two points?
