Been watching all your videos and would emphasize to your viewers that when it comes to the positive attitude, endurance, determination, wise decision-making and love of nature it takes to be a successful long-distance hiker, you possess these traits in abundance. Check out her blog, everybody. She's a good writer and photographer.

If it is the same lady I think you are talking about then she was found in her tent a few miles off the at. :/ apparently she was looking for a phone signal and had unsent messages to her family. Sad story but I am happy they ended up finding her remains so her family can have some sort of closure.

I just read an in depth article on the lady you spoke of who was lost on the AT in that area. For anyone wishing read about this incident just google Woman goes missing on appalachian trail or How could a woman just vanish? by Kathryn Miles or google the missing woman's name Geraldine Largay.

Curious, and perhaps you've already answered this in another vid (I started with all the thru hike vids, I'll get to the rest when you cross that line. What trail guide did you use for your hike? Did you consider going SOBO to get Maine out of the way at the start?

What a brave thing for you to do, hiking alone on the AT. That kind of adventure will be something you will remember the rest of your life. Hiking alone on such a long trek, is like facing the unknown with real fortitude, true courage. It is a treat to watch!

A keltec P32 is 9 rds, 9 ozs fully loaded, 250. There is no reason to be without it. Consider it to be your ukelele. :-) It fits just fine into your front pants pocket and you'll never notice that it's there, until you need it.
