Dehydrated Backpacking Meal Recipe w/ Couscous hikehunter: I dry onions, green/red peppers, peas, and carrots (out of the garden) for adding to the knorr pasta sides and rice sides. I have done the ground beef rocks I like the venison jerky better. I Hike with a small bottle of olive oil to add in to the meals.
The dehydrated hash browns and the ova easy egg stuff makes for some good breakfast cake/patty things. Yes I carry a 4. 5 inch fry pan sometimes.

I almost asked how did you learn all these recipes and then I remembered you are from Alabama so cooking comes as natural as breathing. Thank you so much for sharing this! Like many others here I had already finished breakfast and now I am hungry all over again. Hope to see more delicious recipes from my favorite Southern Belle!
Still counting months or have you started counting days till the PCT!

I am wondering if you can use the ground chicken mixed with the bread crumbs, people always complain about not being able to rehydrate shicken properly. If it works. could be a veriation on the meal. I happen to like the stroganoff coucous with the hamburger. Thanks for the video.

Just went on REI website to read some reviews on the Sea to Summit X-Mug and a few people were saying the taste of the cup in whatever your cooking is very noticeable, Did you find that the taste of the mug was noticeable in hot drinks/food?

I've wondered instead of trying to rehydrate the sauce as a fruit roll try placing it in the blender and grind it up. If you look at the off the shelf meals the sauce is fine and powdery.

Thanks for the helpful tips. Ha, I have one of those collapsible sea to summit cups and I love it but never realized it had the increment markings on the inside. Ha, silly me.

Do you know if you have to cook spaghetti first then dehydrate it? Or can you add the uncooked spaghetti in with your rehydrating meat and vegetables on the trail

I've been thinking about dehydrating some veggies for a few weeks now. I'm gonna take it out and use it soon as I get home Thanks for the nudge! Take care friend
