the steering wheel airbag is standard in all volvo line of cars maybe by unifying production lines they will lower the cost of developing and manufacturing parts on all them produced cars. Many other pieces are used in the other categories of Volvo cars. For the cockpit is boring, especially for the polestar model comes with two engines generating a total power of 415 BHP. same thing go for the designing of the seats in the polestar edition which is coming a very much standard, But there are many factors that play in the favour of the car, which including but not limited to: the level of comfort for the driver & passengers, the cohesion and stability on the road through the four-wheel drive system. The high safty standard before and during car accidents, if we exclude the feature of the vehicles permanent four-wheel drive and its impact on consistency and stability, especially on the bad driving ( environments, routes and roads ) this vehicle is full of systems, devices and means of active and passive safety & protection where Volvo is considered a world pioneer in this field. for the truth perhaps this is its only advantage.

As always, great great video Alex Your auto reviews are so detailed and are exactly what prospective buyers are looking for: a balanced perspective on exterior looks, interior feel, driving, and describing the overall features. Ive been waiting for this new S60 re-design to come out. My 2016 S60 lease comes up in a couple of months, and I am considering this in its R-Design trim against the Genesis G70 and Audi A4 as my next car. Need to drive them all, since I hear these new Volvos are very different from the older ones. Compared to the rest of the class/the cars I posted, how would you rank the quality of the materials used in the R-Design? I hear the new SPA Volvos are great with material use, but some say they are either at par or below par with the competition. As always, thank you for your amazing content

I have been looking forward to this video, thanks Alex I prefer Red turn signal in the rear. People should remember that there is a Center High Mounted Stop Lamp by the rear windshield, so the car behind cant be confused if your car is breaking or turning. To me, the red lamp without amber just gives it a little more feeling of heritage as it does on the Cadillac and Mustang. I also prefer not to have the amber reflector in the head lamp assembly. I found out that the S60 they will produce for the European market (out of S Carolina) is without the amber front reflector and it looks much more edgy and cooler. I am a current Lexus ES 350 owner, and the new S60 definitely gets my attention.

Its unfortunate to see that Volvo reduced the tow rating of these new S60/V60 models down to 2000 lbs. With Saab folding several years ago, Volvo was the last manufacturer to still engineer significant towing capacity in their regular passenger cars (everyone else forces you into their truck or SUV line-up for that capability nowadays. Fortunately, I believe the larger S90 still has a tow rating substantial enough to allow for pulling a fiberglass boat or small camper.

I like both amber signal lights and red turn signal lights. I really dislike tail lights that use the same red lighting elements to brake and indicate a turn though. The worst instance I can think of off the top of my head is an early 2000s Cadillac Deville. The brake and signal lights are one in the same, and its the whole lamp. Bad. Love this S60 though. Such beautiful lines and shapes throughout. Cant wait for the new V60 too.

I prefer amber, but agree with the design language and intent. Unique and stylish design for sure, but I do see a little Charger in the C pillar. The argument that amber is safer and shows the drivers intent better is just plain silly. If you have issues distinguishing the difference between turn signals and brake lights, then I hope we stay off the same stretches of road.

Bravo to Volvo for committing to a hgh-quality, fixed-rate damper in the sport model instead of an adjustable setup. The benefit of fixed-rate, high-quality dampers is sorely underrated amongst most consumers. A good shock, made to a high quality, will perform excellently in many situations AND last a long time AND have less things to fail than an adjustable damper.

Dashboard is rubbish. You will not bit 2000-2010 with circle shape and quality vinil. Yours looks like cheap childish Mazdas. I have installed in my volvo 2003 touch screen head with all systems integration and rear camera. That all what those volvos needed. Yea, and lights are led with nice look. 15 years old my car. Will be still keep ing it

Why release a new gas powered car in this day and age? All of Europe is mandating emissions free cars to be the only ones sold by 2030. That is 11 years to convert all your manufacturing to make electric cars. So why introduce a new gas powered car to manufacturing when you have to start changing away from that manufacturing almost immediately?

Hello Alex on Autos, just wanted to say I find your car reviews to be very comprehensive because you provide the most technical information, compared to other reviewers on YouTube. Also, thanks for using that information in comparison to the competition. Your reviews are very unbiased, which I appreciate, and I find them very entertaining.
