Very exciting to see the new Civic Hybrid. Looked at the new Prius when it came out and it felt much smaller to me when I actually sat in one. The Prius rear seat took a large hit as well as the cargo space. I bought a 22 Honda Insight in the interim and really enjoy its build quality, driving dynamics and fuel economy. I can enjoy the Insight while I wait for the dealers to decrease or stop their crazy mark ups. The Camry hybrid will put price pressure on Honda with pricing imho, the Camry starting at $28, 400.
Great explanation of the difference between the Toyota and Honda hybrid systems at well. Both systems have proven to be quite long lasting. Additionally the non turbo, normally aspirated engines for both will likely be more reliable long term in both.

I’ve been waiting for this when for a while. But I’m not sure about being more efficient than a Toyota hybrid around town. My Accord hybrid’s clutch and gear would connect and disconnect all the time in around town driving. But I think what really brought down the fuel economy was that, if I remember correctly, Toyota uses a vacuum sealed coolant/heating system for the engine that keeps it warm throughout it’s operating range, and the Honda system didn’t. That meant I wasn’t getting the EPA mileage for short trips, and wouldn’t until the engine warmed up. And my car didn’t even have those pretty 7 spoke alloy wheels with tires larger and lower profile than an RX-8!

I was interested in waiting for this a few months back but decided instead to get a 2023 Elantra Hybrid. I had an Accord Hybrid and really liked it, but the Elantra is more comfortable for me. I like the way the hybrid system drives better. Plus, I'm getting significantly better mpg's. 46 on my Accord vs. 59 on my Elantra. I'm on the highway multiple times a week and the Honda hybrid system is just not good at speeds higher than 60. Rarely am I under 60 mpg average on a daily drive in my Elantra, regardless of city or highway driving.

God, finally Honda brought the hybrid civic over. It's been sold in the UK for ages now. I never understood why they didn't bring it over the pond. What’s the reasoning for no air vents in the rear If they don’t expect people to sit back there then why even have 4 doors Oh wait the coupe didn’t sell well because people sat in the back. Huh. I know my family members with babies/young kids immediately rule out cars without rear air vents. Especially if customers have been asking for this, such a miss to not include it on a refresh.

This is probably going to be the only car I recommend to people who don't need more performance or a third row. The accord is a bit too big, the prius has a weird interior and I don't know how the Camry will be. But this car has already proven itself in Europe. All hybrid cars should be making around 200hp. There's now no reason for them not to.

Alex, This could be the most practical Civic since the days of the Civic wagon. It is time for the Corolla Hybrid to step up its practicality game with the inclusion of the hatch and wagon in the North American lineup. With Honda's elevated pricing strategy, we may find the AWD Camry Hybrid is cheaper than a FWD Civic hybrid.

Would have been better if the updated front and rear ends resembled the CN-market Honda Integra. Still looks better than the ghastly Elantra and the hatch will give the Prius a run for its money.
It's nice that the hybrid is being marketed as the best of both worlds option (more powerful yet more fuel efficient.

Is it safe to assume Honda didn’t fix the blatant rear seat cheap-out in which the rear door panels are almost entirely hard plastic and don’t match the fronts I don’t know when or how that became acceptable on any car, but Honda is doing it in pretty much everything, including Touring trims.

There is NOTHING Premium about that Honda Civic, the interior is ugly with that honeycomb dash and that stuck on looking entertainment system is ugly. Does it come with heated steering wheel/seats or AC seats Probably not that would make it more premium.

I was going to buy a new Corolla hybrid sedan but now I'm definitely going to wait a month and buy the 2025 Civic Hybrid! 200 HP and 50 MPG is great! Especially since the Civic has more passenger space and more cargo room than the Corolla. Civic wins!

Keep in mind, folks, air vents in the back seat and USB charge ports are all killing the MPG. If you want more MPG, better not to have these features, and if you want these features, Honda will happily sell you an Accord or CRV.

In the las decade Honda Civic is more a Camry competition than Corolla, we are talking about similar prices, similar comfort, similar space, similar power. So for me isn't fair compare with Corolla because is way more expensive

It's a nice looking car. Plenty of power. You can buy a kit for less than $100 to add the rear vents and a charger port. Now we wait and see what Acura does with the Integra

My beater died a few months ago and I bought the EX-L hatch. Wish it lasted until these hit the market. I didn’t want to stretch my budget to get the accord hybrid.
