Okay, so as a car person, I understand why Honda paired with GM. Saves money on costs and helps get them to market faster.
As an Acura fan, I’m disappointed. First, it does look great. I’ll give them credit for that. The issue for me is that within 2 years, this will already be outdated. The charging port is changing meaning the first two years of this will be eventually a pain in the ass to charge in public. Second, I truly don’t understand why Acura couldn’t have stuck with hybrids. They have a truly amazing AWD system in the previous gen MDX, and the RLX. If they could’ve stuck with that tech but mass produced it to be cheaper, a better gas mileage but still sporty drive would’ve been amazing in the RDX, MDX, and TLX. I think Acura going straight to electric is a misstep and Toyota has already seeing the benefit with their sales.

We own a Tesla Model Y and a 2023 RDX ASpec Tech. I have 0. 0 interest in this, but I would gladly get an another Tesla. They also need to refresh the RDX desperately, otherwise it will be our last (we’ve had two. In fact, my wife is more traditional than me. She drives the RDX. I prefer the Model Y as my daily driver now, IMO it’s a superior driver’s vehicle (not to mention the gas mileage in the RDX is terrible) and is not hamstrung by not very well sorted transmission. Plus Acura brags all day and night about their ELS Stereo. The model Y no name stereo is better. Let’s not get into the infotainment.

Some of the competition that don't qualify for the tax credit are giving you $7500 cash off anyway just to remain competitive. Also, it's assembled at GM's Spring Hill Tennessee plant along withe the Cadillac Lyric. The Chevrolet Blazer and the Honda Prologue are assembled at GM's Ramos Arizpe Mexico plant. I'm sure Honda/Acura had lots of inputs into interior materials and the required front end exterior design to give the brands their respective 'look', but 95% of all the hard design points are shared between the four vehicles. IMO, all four vehicles look good.

Nice looking, but it feels like a by-the-numbers first entry into the EV market, like the BZ4X and the Arriya. If you want to go with a conventional car maker, the Ioniq 5 is probably a better choice. Otherwise, the Teslas are still a decade ahead in terms of tech, efficiency, performance, charging network, etc.

I am not an EV person per se but this is a gorgeous car. The sitting position is definitely suited for an over 60 person. I dated a girl who drove the gas version before it went out of production and it was quite an impressive car. I am tempted to get one especially with the tax credit.

That interior in my opinion is a huge let down. Just doesn't feel special, and that black plastic gap from the screen to the edge, really bothers me just fill it in lol. I would rather get a Genesis GV70 electric over this if I had to make that decision, which will never happen haha

I like this quite a lot but I think I'd prefer to wait for Honda to get their own EVs on sale. They are investing billions of dollars to rework their factories in Ohio to add EV production, and several new facilities in Ontario also dedicated to EVs and related parts.

Disappointing. Not impressed with the exterior styling. Thumbs down on the black roof trim, black wheel well trim, and the sliver rocker panels - did Acura hire a designer from Subaru And CCS charging in 2024 I can live with the interior, however.

The interior looks previous generation and the fact that it's a brand new EV and isn't offering the fastest charging speeds available simply blows my mind. That's one place I want my EV to be cutting edge. I do like the exterior styling but that's about it.

Before you say the zdx is a disappointment remember that there are significantly worse luxury EVs than this. And I think you know which one I’m referring to
I personally think this looks very promising

Wow, looks like a real disappointment. I was an Acura MDX driver for 12 years and then moved to Tesla 6 months ago. Nothing I see here that would make me want Acura’s MDX EV.

I prefer this to Tesla Model Y. An almost flat top looks better than Model Y's hunched top. However, they need to hurry and add a sibling with a usable third row.

Love the video Alex, amazing as always! I may make a note though if it’s ok.
The camera color could use a bit more vibrancy. Colors seem a bit washed out

I would've preferred if the ZDX was more like the original: take an MDX but make it a fastback 5-seater, and use the turbo V6 from the TLX/MDX Type S.

Hey Alex not sure how long you've been doing it, but I like this newer format where the camera walks around with you! It must be tougher talking in one take.

Honda/ Acura are betting on customers not knowing it’s a GM product and just hoping they go to the lot, see the electric Honda
/ Acura, and boom buy it

What an embarrassment! How long until the Acura get back to the brand that we used to love sporty, reliable, affordable luxury. Not this freak of a car!

Man, I am going to have to study this car for a month to try and find a redeeming quality. I am sure it has one and I am committed to finding it!

Looking purely at the side profile, I'm half surprised Subaru didn't get in on the platform sharing party to make an electric Outback.

I’d buy it! Smart how they kept the Apple Car Play / Android Auto. That subscription model GM is forcing its customers pisses me off.
