America's Most Efficient Truck FINALLY Gets AWD! - 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid AWD

It's taken too long and it'll cost you more than last year, but Ford's blockbuster Maverick truck FINALLY combines a 40 MPG hybrid with with AWD! Not only that, the AWD hybrid matches the 2. 0L turbo's 4, 000 pounds of towing capability thanks to a new hybrid system. Why get the 2. 0L turbo Honestly, I have no idea (aside from wanting a Tremor off-road Maverick which is now a stand alone trim.

Unfortunately for you in the current car market because this is smaller than a Ridgeline and Tacoma this is now the compact unibody truck category because Tacoma and Ranger are squarely the Mid-size class.
In this case I believe Honda would be smart to take the Ridgeline down to this class because we know Honda is never going to make a Body on frame.

I'm glad I waited to get a Maverick. I like they updated the screen and added wireless carplay. Hybrid AWD with increased towing is a nice have. Now I can drive this to the beach or some of the more primitive camp sites without sacrificing fuel economy. Is this mechanical AWD the same system in the gas Maverick

Alex, Going forward, the Maverick's 4, 000 lbs tow rating seems like a good benchmark for all compact hybrids. For some time I have been calling on Toyota to upgrade the RAV4 Hybrid to a 3, 500 lbs tow rating in the next generation and Ford has proven it is attainable in a 40 mpg hybrid.

I was really hoping for and AWD hybrid, but was totally not expecting 4K towing to go along with it. That's just as big of a deal IMO. Nothing else comes close to the value of this thing. Though if I towed often I'd still want the EcoBoost for the additional torque.

The AWD hybrid is the what I was waiting for! For the price I will go this route over the gas version. Good job Ford on the Maverick! I'm team both turbo and hybrid but in these days where you need to maximize your investment the hybrid awd is my choice!

Thanks for the clear to follow breakdown. I am glad I got my xl maverick hybrid over this. The price increase does not justify the 2mpg and i dont need awd that bad. I also love the physical hvac controls i have but this is missing them. Love that green paint

As an owner of a 23 Maverick EB, these changes look good, however, I'm disappointed in the price increase again. The new base price is almost what I paid for an XLT, AWD, EB with a bunch of options. Also, don't love the new HVAC controls.

Sounds great. It's about time for the AWD Hybrid. Hopefully the AWD Hybrid option will be available in the lower trims and isn't reserved for Lariat trims. There is one more thing the truck lacks - the 7. 2KW Inverter that the F150 Hybrid has.

Wish they sold a 2-door full size bed model. Definitely not a strong market for it. but it would be cool! The AWD hybrid is a great addition. I think Subaru is actually in the crosshairs for people cross-shopping with Outback.

Too much black exterior plastic. No under hood insulator. Ever increasing price (especially the destination charge. Screen size is not really something that revs me up as I still rather have controls that are more tactile.

I wonder when Toyota will bring a hybrid small truck for North America. They already have the most reliable and efficient hybrid system in the market. It has the potential of outselling even their current cash cow, the RAV4.

Any word on the Lobo trim Weird that they didn't bother leaving it off the order guide when it wasn't unveiled with the rest of the lineup. I'm wondering what changed with that 7 speed quick shift trans.

Limited use. Almost all applications fwd and seasonal snow tires are better than AWD with all seasons.
Less maintenance, less expensive, better performance. AWD is superior in only a few use cases.

I heard Ford sales are dismal. You can put all the fancy bells and whistles you want but until they price their vehicles within reach of the normal middle-class family, they will suffer in sales

Wow 3 years ago base price was just under $20k, and in that time now it’s $26k I think Ford may have lost its mission a little bit with that. But hey I guess if people are willing to pay that.

As much as I like my 2019 Colorado Z71 4WD, I' will consider selling it and getting a Maverick AWD hybrid. Ford's lack of a hybrid AWD was holding me back, but I have no excuse now. Good job, Ford!

They put the climate control in the screen.
They actually put the climate control in the screen.
A bean counter did not fully understand the appeal of the Maverick's interior.

To everyone comparing these to your Tacomas and colorados please go sit in a Maverick. They are tiny. I like the Maverick but is a very small truck. Its really an economy car with a bed.

I never fell in love with my hybrid fwd. ended up with a non-hybrid AWD and have enjoyed it very much. I’m going to order a hybrid AWD to replace my fx4. Be well, and thanks for posting.

All I know is that I am a dead man if I tell my neighbor about this AWD Hybrid after he waited over a year to get is OG Hybrid only a few months ago because. his wife is going to kill me!
