Nissan FINALLY Completely Redesigned The Armada & Patrol! 2025 Nissan Armada/Patrol First Look

Nissan's Armada and Patrol have often lived in the shadow of Toyota's Land Cruiser, which is shame since the Nissan and it's Infiniti cousin regularly outsell the Toyota competition. For 2025 the Armada gets most of the same updates as the QX80 we recently drove with a few conspicuous changes. Most notably: the Armada gets a more capable 4WD system and it's twin-turbo V6 is tuned for regular unleaded, no premium required. If you want something more rugged, there's also a Pro-4X version for you now. Sadly, it doesn't look like the Patrol will get a diesel.

Please, I'm begging you. Please, for gosh sakes, STOP using gloss black everywhere! Especially in places where fingers & palms will be touching! It looks outdated already, & it's a nightmare to maintain. Throw in that it's extremely easy to scratch. So gloss black looks horrendous in a very short amount of time. It's also a huge safety issue! I've lost track the number of times that I've been blinded by the gloss black finishes in my & other vehicles. How it's still legal to use it blows my mind. It's just a HORRIBLE material. I'd replace it in a heartbeat if my vehicle wasn't a lease. I can tell you this, if I ever get into an accident or someone else crashes into me due to the sun glare off a gloss black interior piece, I'm suing a vehicle maker big time. I'd suggest the same for you too. Gloss black shouldn't be used in vehicles.

Thank you for this video. The Patrol 2020 facelift looked more gorgeous and masculine. But the air suspension is really what we miss in the older versions for smoother driving experience. Door handles are old looking, yet the 2 colors outside looks pretty. The inside, I like very much the panoramic sunroof, yet honestly I like the 2020/2021 Patrol 2 screens Dashboard more than 2022-2024 and this one. not a fan of car seat massage. The real challenge in my opinion is the new engine V6 3. 5L twin turbo, would it do better than the V8 5. 6L 400 hp engine. Wait and see, not now but in one year may be ppl would agree with me that it won't.

Nobody is going to be taking their $80k gigantic SUV off road any further than a flat dirt or gravel road. Basically just far enough to get to the glamping site. They just want a mall crawler that looks like it could go off-road, so the wheel and tire choice on this tank is appropriate. If they put wheels/tires that were actually appropriate for off-road use (let alone the suspension for it) people would complain about it.

This is a very beautiful vehicle. If the wife and I did not switch to fully electric cars going 8 years now, I will definitely consider this. it's been almost a decade since I took a car in for an oil change. Also, I might have pumped gas a couple of times in that long time to help out a family member at some point.
If Nissan makes a fully electric version of this car, I will definitely buy one.

Shit is it the only full size body on frame SUV with legitimate rear locker I always thought someone should do this since all the equivalent trucks have their off-road version like zr2, etc, why can they make the SUV version to be as capable since they have shorter wheel base and less rear overhang which will be better for break and departure angle. Only thing missing is the solid rear axle

The only change that i can see that i like is the addition of the rear diff lock. Things that suck: V8 gone, no more shift lever, Auto start/stall technology, no more real guages, no more parking brake pedal, V8 gone, And if they switched to electric power steering then at also sucks. Think i will be hanging on to my '22 armada for a long time.

Great job, Alex (and Sofyan! This is what the Sequoia should have been. We have a second-generation Sequoia and are so disappointed in the third-generation one. Hopefully, they price it less than the GM twins and third-generation Sequoia. Nissan has to out-compete the competition on both price and features to regain their footing, in my opinion.

Thank you for acknowledging this vehicle with such a world view. Being in North America (USA) we get such a USA-centric view of things, however manufacturers are global. Many markets influence one another and I don't think that's talked about enough. Love this PRO4X, however I don't think I'll be able to afford one.

I really wish Nissan can build a strong proper suv like back in the day GU Patrol Y61. Needless to tell how I feel about these newer V6 twin turbos. On vehicle manufacturers point its a good business as they won't last long and people will buy new vehicles sooner.

I've got a soft spot for nissan. My first vehicle was an 87 pathfinder, very high mileage and falling apart by the time it got to me but still loved it. Had a friend with a 240sx, loved that one too. I hope this is the beginning of a comeback for them.

The US finally gets a locking rear differential That's a step the the right direction. And, I believe this is the first Off Road trim 3-row with a bench in the 2nd row (Pathfinder Rock Creek, Pilot Trail Sport, Sequoia TRD Off Road, etc.

baffles me why nissan thinks ARMADA is the better name. just call it the PATROL! in the world the PATROL is PRESTIGOUS and CLASS! they should have just called this the PATROL in the USA MARKET and got rid of the Armada name.

Alex, that push buttons for the transmission is a turn off for me! I’m in a truck, a huge SUV, off road, I need to hold on in to a stick shift gear. maybe I’m too old school but those push buttons are No.
reply

I like it, except cargo capacity. Really only the same as many mid-size crossovers, despite 8-10 longer. And much less than minivans. That and the price are big detractors for this vehicle class.
reply

That's way too much cheap looking gloss black materials. Especially on a more off-road oriented vehicle. You know it's going to all look horrible with dust and scuffs. Yeah, I just can't do it.
reply

I think gm should get a percentage on every sale. Everything new in this segment is just a rendition of their SUVs. This looks like a Tahoe and Yukon went on a honeymoon in Japan and got pregnant.
reply

Rest in peace sequoia. Nissan has come in and destroyed Toyota which is not something I would ever say but it’s happened
Well done Nissan. You’ve shut down the Nissan junk haters

reply

I look at this and can't help but wonder why Nissan decided to kill the Titan- that interior (and the new engine) would have addressed most of the complaints with the truck.
reply

Cant lie, Im impressed. They really nailed a lot of key details. Truthfully, Nissan has been quietly revamping its whole lineup. Not too many bad offerings there anymore.
reply

Shiny piano black open-spoke wheels No, thank you. If you actually ever take this thing off-road, have fun cleaning the mud off the spokes and brakes.
