I don't understand Honda's styling as of late. Why is the front end so long People who are buying a compact anything are doing so because they want a smaller car. Adding 2 feet of entirely unnecessary empty space to the front of the car not only makes it look goofy, it makes it bigger with absolutely no benefit. Take that extra length and put it in the interior where its actually useful.
A while ago, I leased a Civic coupe with the same drivetrain this has. I would say it is on the top end of adequate. The benefit in the Civic is that it got excellent fuel economy for a non-hybrid. In this, its slow, its buzzy, the fuel economy is mediocre at best, and it is completely inappropriate for a luxury vehicle.

Imo this is HORRIBLE value for money, this is basically just a trim level for Honda Hr-v, not really a different model. I don't see any reason that justifies the price difference to a Hyundai Kona 1. 6 Turbo. Also Subaru Crosstreck Hybrid, Mazda CX-50 Hybrid, Mazda CX-50 Turbo are much better value for money imo. Even a Buick Envision beats this, the Buick is more spacious and comes standard with a 2. 0T engine for almost the same list price - before it gets $5k, sometimes $10k discounts.

I really dislike this car and most Hondas because of their CVT transmission. It seems that you are trying very hard to convince people that this vehicle is affordable and probably better than others in its class. When you started driving it and the CvT started to droan and make a lot of noise, I was like there it is the CVT, and it sucks! This is simply an HRV with different front headlights and taillights! It sucks!

I guess im getting old but I remember Acura having standard leather and moonroofs with memory seats. Stuff like that should be standard, especially in today’s age. I kept hearing you say optional. I know you pay more for that luxury badge, but I can’t help think that Acura cheaped out by not giving basic luxury items. I don’t find it acceptable to own an Acura and not have memory seats.

Awesome, I've been waiting since last generation HR-V and was hoping for hybrid system too for both for power and efficiency. Finally! And I'm not looking for a race car and neither is my daughter and my mom who all of us will get 1. I have my other vehicles to go fast and not unrealistic like many reviewers who forget target market and not them who call themselves enthusiasts

I have a 2021 HR-V AWD with only 150hp and I find it kind of odd you are complaining about performance. Maybe you are jaded having driven more cars. Then again, I'd lose about 3mpg and have to use premium gas to get not much more power. Then again the Hornet GT is plenty of fast, but no one is buying it. Probably just keep my Honda and save my money

I don't like the center console design whatsoever. I'm not a fan of separated cup holders. There is room for this if they designed it better. The gear shifter needs to be buttons so it won't get in the way.
No luxury car should be taking 8-9 secs to 60mph for something this small. Wrong engine choice for this relatively nice car.

Manufacturers are selling technology not power. Imagine 4 pax and luggage with 190/180 on a road trip. No way. If looks could kill. But they can't. This is a HRV on steroids for Honda. Nothing less. Why a white interior then talking about children They don't make these for families. These are for young singles or empty nesters.

Acura needs to copy Honda Pilot's rear design to fix that rear slope on ADX and MDX. That rear design makes me lean towards Honda Pilot, Lexus TX, and Grand Highlander. The boxy design of these alternatives looks nicer and makes the vehicle more useful. If Acura is selling me an SUV, then it shouldn't mess with utility.

Acura missed the mark. They should have offered the 2. 0L Turbo (like the RDX ) and a CRV Like Sport Hybrid Touring gas/Electric hybrid. I'll wait for the upcoming year(s. It does sound very Noisy with the 1. 5 L T urbo engine. FWIW, Honda's E-CVT is commonly known as one of the best CVTs.

Imagine buying a 43k luxury car just to get outdone in top trim compact mainstream SUVs in space, performance and fuel economy. Shoot this thing doesnt even have much to scream for in terms of features either. yeah it looks good. But i can get a mazda cx-5 that also looks good

And you really like the B&O sound system. Thanks for showing us the screen for adjusting the audio. Looks like you had to cut out the sound due to music copyright laws. So ridiculous. They should change that restriction and maybe give you the first 15 seconds duty free!

Does anyone remember way back when Acura mounted their engines longitudinal to reduce front wheel overhang and have better proportions This is the complete opposite. Why have such a huge front wheel overhang with such a tiny engine Ruins the rest of the design.

I thoroughly enjoyed this informative review of this attractive slug.
But for some reason, my paddle shifting poodle, was offended by it (Even after I explained to her. That you were talking about poodles with paddle shifters, not poodles that paddle shifted)

Yeesh. The exterior proportions are not great and the interior is hugely disappointing. That interior could have been pulled from any Honda. Its boring and dated looking, material quality doesn't seem any better than an HR-V. This is supposed to be premium

I have a solution, buy a CX-5 carbon edition if you try to save money, or get a Signature if you want to ball out, save yourself from the headache!
CVT 1. 5L turbo basically an unreliable HR-V with leather seats, oh wait, HR-V EX-L is already there!

Suffers from the same problem subcompact luxury almost always does where it's just not quite nice enough to justify picking it over an optioned up compact in the regular space. Either spend up with the Volvo or get an optioned up Mazda instead.

The HR-V with its 3rd side window it looks like a Porsche Cayenne while this ADX looks more like a Chevy Trax if you look at the same place. So we can say that it is stylistically a failure if we wanted to give it a richer look than the Honda

Overpriced HRV. Only these Japanese pseudo luxury brands can get away with this garbage. Your local condo association parking lot will be full of them. No idea why, but the retired community cannot get enough of anything Acura puts out

I don’t see why it’s so bad. I’ve seen worse entries in this class. Spoiler alert: there’s a far worse entry in this segment. This is one of the best Japanese entries we will get
Acura did a great job
