2026 Toyota RAV4 Woodland - Is This The Ultimate Hybrid. Subaru

Bearing in mind that Toyota is the largest shareholder in Subaru. This new RAV4 Woodland is certainly bringing Subaru Wilderness energy to the hybrid game with a hint of extra capability, some knobblier tires, a beefy roof rack and something Subaru can't give you: a PHEV with solid range and 40 MPG if you treat it nicely. Here's why we don't talk about reliability much: And resale value Same thing:

For offroad or active safety (think snow & ice) the re-active Slip before Grip (SBG) system with a small rear motor would never be as safe as the pre-emptive Grip before Slip (GBS) & Even more Grip if still Slipping fulltime symmetrical AWD system that constantly providing independent amount of power/break to each individual driving wheels on the Subaru Forester/Outback hybrid vehicle. With only 3 US-MPG (1. 28Km/L) differences in EPA rating on the hybrid versions I rather have a Preventative Driving System (PDS) than Reactive Driving System (RDS) on the road and it is still the safest fulltime option on any road and weather conditions on a unibody vehicle. Subaru also has extra overall interior rooms with the same standard warranty coverage as a RAV4. Not that it matters too much to Toyota if we buy a Toyota or a Subaru since Toyota has 20% of Subaru stocks.

I like the front-end design of the Woodland more than the others. The sliver design of the headlights fit better aesthetically. Most buyers won't need the roof rack, especially the crossbars. I would buy this trim over the others, but does it make sense if I won't use it on anything but pavement Will the insurance bean-counters want more for premiums because of the trim's name and aspirational purpose

Great review. Wife and I have been looking for something to replace our Sienna now that we're empty nesters. Love the look of the Tacoma and 4Runner, but realistically don't need the serious off road & towing capacity that those vehicles offer and want something with nicer ride and better mpg. The '26 RAV4 Woodland PHEV in Everest is now the top of our list. What a cool SUV!

Great review, poro points good hev powertrain, con lack of underbody protection, hvac manual control fan speed temp so could be use easily in gloves etc, lack of h power socket on the back so camping compresor, fridge could be used, bad front aprouch angle as bottom lip of front bumper seats relly low, no option for full led lamps many thx for review

To the american thinking car are overpiced. Global inflation is worldwide, this is happening due global corruption by the men in power. Cheap cars are done forever due to printing of money and inflation. This is why Gold is skyrocketing and there is no trust in the dollar.

Really hoping the Woodland can be optioned with a technology package that adds the digital rear view mirror. Outdoorsy folks tend to load up on cargo and being able to see out the back still would be a huge quality of life and safety improvement.

Cheap plastic
Tinny doors / poor build quality
Noisy interior
Overpriced and markups guaranteed
I called it that the rav4 would be disappointing but all of you laughed. Well who’s getting the last laugh

Travis, The best thing about the Woodlander is the increased 3, 500 lbs tow rating. I will need to see evidence that proves it offers more traction than any other AWD RAV4 when riding on the same tires.

A lot to like, I won't be replacing my Subaru with an on demand AWD system anytime soon though. I might take some Toyota in my Subaru with the new Forester Hybrid though.

38mpg I get 35mpg in a prime at 80mph with similar roof rails going 80 mph. The prime is 1. 5 taller than normal rav4 so woodland is taller then phev even taller still
reply

Overpriced, poor quality, marked up, noisy, tinny build quality that makes a Tesla look better
Yeah I’ll take a gv70 or Rdx for that price please

It is the same body style with a square face ( more like a brick) and way less approach angle. And. 4in. Increase on ground clearance Is nothing

Toyota decided to use weak motor in the rear axle, which surprises me.
I’m also curious how is the situation with the rusting rear connector.

Some models have a gear shift, and some have a weird toggle to save space (which doesn’t save space) I can’t figure out which trims get what.
reply

Could Toyota have at least tried to make this off-road version look the part That front overhang is massive. The crimson chin of vehicles!
reply

Love the color! Needs the full LED headlights like the Limited model. Also, a dark brown interior would make it even better.
reply

If only it has the 2026 Outback's attractive and useable dashboard layout, with physical HVAC buttons and a more upscale look.
reply

Nice paint. Other than that, I am not impressed. Plastics, and that digital dash/infotainment design is ugly, to say the least.
reply

I’m sure Toyota hasn’t announced pricing yet because they will be surprising up with a reasonable and affordable MSRP
