1: 42 To unpack this a bit: LFP battery longevity advice is complicated. According to _Engineering Explained's_ video on the topic, you need to charge an LFP up to 100% every now and then BUT ALSO it's better for longevity to spend as much time as possible at a low state of charge. The way he squares that circle is to advise that you charge your LFP battery to full, then wear the charge down as much as you're comfortable doing, and then charge it back up to full again. (With plenty of qualifiers; it's an 18-minute videoHow To Ruin Your Electric Car's Battery - LFP Edition)

I just dont get the shape. I like MPV shape cars. But the Bolt just looks so odd. The back seats look horrid. Im genuinely surprised.
Also a GM car Never. You simply dont buy American cars asking for trouble. I got to drive the last Cruze GM made. Omg it was a terrible car. Seriously dont understand why people are upset GM axed its worst products. Same with the Malibu.
Their trucks suck too but they are the only thing interesting they offer.
If they cant get a ICE car right after DECADES of doing it. I just dont see why anyone should give their EVs a try.

Detroit Free Press - General Motors said its popular and hotly anticipated 2027 Chevrolet Bolt will return for limited run at three price points around $30, 000.
GM would not clarify what it meant by limited run during a call with news media on Oct. 9. GM plans to start shipping Bolts to dealerships in January.
GM spokesman Chad Lyons said the Detroit automaker expects Bolt and the brand's Equinox EV to account for the bulk of Chevrolet's electric vehicle sales volume going forward, adding that he cannot disclose how many the company expects to sell.

The LFP Bolt seems. lackluster. Got renewed parts where it was less expensive or REQUIRED. But otherwise, it’s pretty much the 22 EUV with newer software. Especially the suspension. Does it still have AM radio If Nissan brought an adequate # of units of S and SV trims of 26 Leaf, they’d probably wipe the floor with this mostly old Bolt (EUV. I live in the northern US and LFP is a liability - it’s =25% of GMs customer base. Could be a very limited run depending on LFP battery cell tariffs and Nissans import volumes.

I came in wondering if I should trade my EUV in. No CarPlay, no regen paddle GM, I'm not interested. And the passenger side cubbies just look like a place to keep things that will cause injury in an accident - what happened to the glovebox 5: 40 Sure there's headroom, but the rear suspension is terrible and at 5'8 on a bouncy road you'll smack the pillar. Understanding that this is a preview model, the interior looks even cheaper than my EUV Premium, and that already has acres of GM's trademark cheap plastic.

The charging port is on the wrong side for Tesla charging. If you back into the space, the Tesla charging cord is too short, if you front in, the charging port is on the wrong side and the charging cord is still too short. A friend of mine has a current Bolt EUV and charging at a Tesla charger is almost impossible for them. They have to use the charger in the next space on the left after fronting in to get it to work. It's just a very bad placement for a charging port IMO.

did he say, you can fit 4 adults back here and still have plenty of room. surely, he can't be serious. maybe 4 anorexic adults. seems like they removed more features than they put in for a new model. for what it is, it looks more like a $20k car; which if it is then they might have a chance at selling a few. i kind of wish they would bring the volt back as a full ev. i liked that car, that's the one i traded in for my ev6.

I don’t see the purpose of the bolt. The equinox EV is the perfect size. If they could concentrate on making the equinox I think they could achieve economies of scale and get factory utilization high enough to be profitable without subsidies. If you make another model you ruin the economics unless they can guarantee production numbers. I just don’t think they’ll be able to do it with the bolt.

Good report from Travis, who is blossoming in to a fine presenter. As someone has has presented many times, may i respectively Travis, offer a small tip Speak slower my friend, It is a common trait to speak too fast when you've so much to say in such a small time space, but slow down about 15-20%, that is really good advice. The only omission was i think, not mentioning the heat-pump.

can we just start saying 'nacks' for the connector please.
I'm really sad they're not bringing the Bolt from Brazil to the states. That would have been so cool and I think would have sold much better. This is just a Bolt EUV with a new front and back. Was never a fan of the EUV's shape, it's a strange bulbous shape. but thank GOD they took the brake lights out of the rear bumper!

A majority of Chevy Bolts I see on the road have a problem with the brake lights. They are using the lower auxiliary brake lights, as if the hatch was open, instead of the main brake lights. And interestingly there's a slight delay between the 3rd brake light coming on and then the auxiliary brake lights, like the computer is processing something in that time. Very strange.

I’d rather just get the upcoming Nissan Leaf if I was looking for a vehicle in this price and size range new. Plus it’s made in Japan, which I’d put on a better build quality and reliability vs the Chevy. My brother was able to get an equinox AWD a few months ago for $32k after various state and federal refunds; which seems to be the better buy over this.

Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the paddle anyway. I prefered just toggling OPD on and off via the center console button. I like OPD in traffic, but coasting in low traffic roads and highways. Would be nice to have the Korean style toggles on the wheel. I think that would fit my driving style. I've not had a chance to try them yet though.

They should've given it a larger battery with over 300 mile range or should've made it $5000 less expensive, but like this it won't sell and isn't worth it when for just a little bit more money you get an equinox with more range and a larger vehicle for 5 people instead of 4 it's a no brainer for the small price difference.

Also its dangerous to have the vents high and the infotainment screen low when navigating makes you look down further away from the windshield and it would be safer if they would put the screen higher and the vents underneath so you can navigate and look at your maps and the road at the same time easier and safer!

Too bad they didn't move the charge port to the front passenger side. But I love the normal things, the knobs, switches, instrument cluster, and center storage, steering wheel buttons. If you can save the regen setting I wouldn't miss the paddles too much, but I think it was a bad decision to remove them.

Kudos to GM for stepping on the paint to right a wrong. Cancelling the Bolt was such a bad business decision, from top to bottom.
That being said. I really, really, REALLY don't understand why you would give up on the regen paddle. Anybody who drove the Bolt or the Volt know how great that thing is.

The lack of rear seat ventilation makes it unusable in excessively hot or cold climates. A miss.
They have touched up a budget option but considered headlight design more important than reasonable passenger accommodations.
This is a huge disappointment from my perspective.

Sounds like an all-new model is on the way but for now we get a refreshed EUV with better charging and NACS. Why can't Tesla make a small hatchback that starts in the low 30k range If Nissan can make enough Leafs that will be a big seller, probably 3rd best seller after 3 and Y.

So funny did it ever occur to GM to actually check how to charge at a Tesla Station If they did they would see it's charge port placement is on the wrong side of the car Are these guys called Engineers Why take two years to design this again and do it wrong
